Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) Kiphire unit on Sunday expressed disappointment over the non-functioning of Nagaland Sate Transport (NST) service from Pungro to Mimi via Khongsa, Extra Assistant Commissioner head quarter.
The Bhartiya Janata Party unit stated citizens of Pungro sub-division area have been deprived of Nagaland Sate Transport service for several years and the public were facing a lot of hardship, especially patients and students as they are not able to meet their urgent needs on time.
President of Bhartiya Janata Party Kiphire district, J.M. Makhe Joseph, demanded immediate resumption of NST bus service from Pungro-Mimi, which was flagged off by chief minister Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio on November 1, 2006.
According to J.M. Makhe Joseph, the monolith stone erected at the time of Nagaland Sate Transport bus service inauguration is still standing in public ground and regretted to note that the bus service came to a complete halt, days after it was inaugurated.
BJP Kiphire district also said neglecting such needy development of the people in remote areas by DAN government resulted in ‘failures’, at the same time, added the citizens of Pungro area would no longer put up with such “step-motherly treatment”.
Bhartiya Janata Party Kiphire district has appealed to the authorities in charge to resume the bus service at the earliest for the welfare of the general public at large.
Taking strong exception, the Bhartiya Janata Party stated that earlier, the general public and various organizations had lodged several complaints against ‘Nagaland Sate Transport department’ but added the authority turned down their plea instead of fulfilling their demand.
