Thoktsur (Longsingking) village students union (TVSU) celebrated its silver jubilee on January 7 with parliamentary secretary for fishery, relief & rehabilitation, printing & stationery, S. Heno as the chief guest. The chief guest unveiled the jubilee monolith, followed by jubilee celebration at the jubilee hall Longsingking. Speaking on the occasion, Heno said the future belonged to those who invested in education today. He urged the students to rejuvenate their thoughts and pursue future with firm determination. He also highlighted that under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio, even the remotest areas were being developed and further appealed the public for cooperation, stated an official bulletin. SDO (C) Thonoknyu, Litrongla Tongbe, BDO Thonoknyu Tsukiya Kath and TAPO president Thangou also exhorted the function. Invocation was pronounced by K. Kiumong while Thsoithu students union and Chillitso students union entertained the gathering with melodious song, and cultural dance by Thsoithu dancing troupes. The programme ended with vote of thanks and benediction by Mongtsoa Thsoithu.
Meanwhile, S. Heno also graced the 40th Sanglao village students’ union programme as the chief guest on January 8. The programme was held on the theme ‘For a higher and brighter tomorrow’. EAC Noklak, M.S. Thangbong also delivered short speech. SSUTT office bearers presented special song.
