The parishioners of St. Xavier Meluri are gearing up to welcome youth from all over Nagaland to the 6th Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) convention to be held from January 14 to 17 at St. Xavier’s Parish, Meluri in Pochury area. The conference hall beautifully structured in the shape of ‘Holy Communion’ and ‘Morung’ for the entrance can accommodate more than 2000 delegates.
The conference would be held with Yitachu, parliamentary secretary, law and justice and tourism as chief guest for the inaugural function on January 15. Rev. Fr. Carlous Neisalhou, vicar general, diocese as the main celebrant for the evening Holy Eucharist celebration. Minister for youth resources and sports, Naiba Konyak would grace the occasion as chief guest for the valedictory function on January 16 while Most. Rev. Dominic Lumon Archbishop, Imphal Diocese would be the main celebrant for the Holy Eucharist. NCYM and the community are expecting nearly 2000 delegates for the convention.
Meanwhile, the convener along with the organizing committee members of the convention and the Catholic Community of the Pochury have invited all the youth from various community of the state to take part in the 6th convention of NCYM. Meluri area encircled by Dizu River and the Pochury area bordering with Burma and Manipur is endowed with scenic beauty with its rich natural resources. The convention will be held on the theme “Transformed by faith, transforming the world”.
