Minor reshuffle in Manipur ministry

Manipur chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh has reallocated some portfolios in his Secular Progressive Front (SPF) ministry, the term of which ends in February next year.
Y Erabot, who was earlier the civil supply minister, will now hold charge of commerce and industry, an official notification said.
Irrigation and flood control minister N Biren will hold additional charge of civil supply. L Jayenta, who earlier held the Education portfolio will be the new medical minister.
The education portfolio has been given to science and technology minister D D Thaisi.
Ph Parijat, who earlier held charge of the medical portfolio, will hold charge of the agriculture department which which has been divested from social welfare minister N Loken.
Meanwhile, as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the bye-election of Konthoujam Assembly would be held on February 14.
According to officials, notification would be issued on January 21 for the election and the last date for filing nominations for candidatures is January 28. Further, scrutiny of nomination would be held on January 29 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is on January 31 with polling dates fixed on February 14, from 8 am to 5 pm.The counting of votes would be held on February 17 and all procedures to be completed by February 21.
