Transfer and posting of IAS officers
DIMAPUR: Chief secretary, Lalthara has notified on the transfer and posting of the following IAS officers with immediate effect. The officers include Mhathung Kithan, IAS commissioner & secretary, school education & SCERT transferred and posted as commissioner & secretary, industries & commerce vice Imkonglemba IAS transferred; and Imkonglemba IAS commissioner & secretary, industries & commerce transferred and posted as commissioner & secretary, school education & SCERT vice Mhathung Kithan IAS transferred.
2nd Jericho-II colony day observed
DIMAPUR: Jericho-II colony Phek town observed its 2nd colony day on January 11 at the colony panchayat hall. Finance secretary CYF Seyieveto Lohe was the chief guest. The chief guest donated `15,000 to mark the day’s events. Others who made contributions in various fields were additional SP Phek Khrusa and EAC Phek Vekhoyi `3,000; SDO I&FC Phek Khrotso `1,000; ‘Lt Vebuto Lohe memorial trophy’ for volleyball (men) champion by Kuvepoyi Lohe; and Vekhoneyi Venuh sponsored awards for meritorious students while DAO Phek Imtitemjen, SDO (I&FC) Phek Khrotso, Veniepa, Vevocho, and Meselhi sponsored other awards.
Global AIDS Conference
DIMAPUR: AIDS Healthcare Organization (AHCO) would be organizing global AIDS conference in two sectors from February 22 to 25 in Washington, D.C USA and from March 28 to 3 in Saint Loius Senegal. The summit will deliver interactive workshop sessions that will enable delegates to share best practice, exchange ideas, empower each other and discuss the latest research findings. KUN5th foundation day
DIMAPUR: Kohima Users Network (KUN) observed its 5th foundation day on the January 12 at the Indian Red Cross Society Conference Hall Kohima. Kevinguto Khamo, president, KUN delivered the key note address and stressed on the need of Users community to come forward and take up individual responsibilities for one’s own action. Abou Mere, president, India Drug Users Forum, congratulated KUN on its anniversary and stated KUN was the first district level network of people who used drug (PUDs) in the country. In his address he said PUDs should not only talk about rights but take up own responsibilities, help the community and be productive so that the society could work in partnership to deal with drug abuse, HIV. Ketholelie Angami, president, Nagaland Users Network and Teiso Solo Secretary CAD Foundation also exhorted the gathering. Special songs were also presented by various groups. Ato Secretary KUN pronounced vote of thanks. Around 200 members and well wishers from different organisations/NGOs attended the program.
Dimapur DPDB deliberate on census- II
DIMAPUR: The monthly meeting of the Dimapur District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) for the month of January 2011 was held on January 5 at the conference hall of deputy commissioner Dimapur. The meeting was chaired by vice chairman and deputy commissioner Maong Aier. While welcoming the board members, the chairman also wished them a prosperous year ahead, being the first board meeting of the year. The DC informed the house that second phase census 2011 will start from February 9 to February 28 with a revisional round from March 1 to 5. The DC also said that each person from a household has to be enumerated, in this context, the DC appealed to all the enumerators and supervisors to be vigilant for accurate enrollment. The DC further said there are about 12,000 homeless population in the district, which has also been taken care of. During the meeting, the board also decided to pursue for official short form, the name for Dimapur district, which can be called as Dmr or Du after approval. The board also reviewed the last meeting minutes and the departments of DRDA and Soil Conservation were asked to highlight departmental activities in the next Board meeting.
SCERT on primary teacher recruitment
KOHIMA: State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) Nagaland informed that candidates who have successfully completed PSTE course and B.Ed course would be eligible to sit for primary teacher and graduate teacher recruitment examination respectively. All DEOs have been requested to submit application with photos to obtain admit cards and other confidential papers from SCERT on January 17 or 18. Applications with incomplete/incorrect documents would be liable to be disqualified even after the written examination, SCERT added.
Social work at Wokha
DIMAPUR: In view of the forthcoming Republic Day celebration, a social work has been convened on January 22 starting 7am at Wokha. Administrator Wokha town council Athel O Lotha, Wokha informed all heads of offices and public of Wokha town to participate in the social work. Department banner competition on R-Day
DIMAPUR: With reference to the department-wise banner competition to be held on Republic Day, Home Commissioner, J. Alam has informed that the size of the flexi banners have been revised to 8ft by 12ft instead of 10 ft by 20 ft. All participating departments have been asked to note the changes and display the banners accordingly.
