An army recruitment rally has been scheduled to be held at Koirangei Imphal East (Manipur) from January 21 to 30 at the Old Air Field Location, Koirangei Imphal (East), Manipur.
According to a defence release, the recruitment is open for male candidates only. The recruitment will be done for youth belonging to all districts of Manipur for the following categories: Soldier General Duties (GD), Soldier Clerk (Clk)/ Soldier Store-Keeper Technical (SKT), Soldier (Technical), Soldier Nursing Assistant (NA) and for Re-Enrolment into the Defence Security Corps (DSC) Category and for 10+2 Candidates of All Districts of Nagaland for the following Categories: Soldier Clerk (Clk)/Soldier Store-Keeper Technical (SKT), Soldier (Technical), Soldier Nursing Assistant (NA) and for Re-Enrolment into the Defence Security Corps (DSC) Category.
The recruitment will also be conducted for sportsmen for all categories and 10+2 candidates of all districts of Nagaland state, for the following Categories: Soldier Clerk (Clk)/Soldier Store-Keeper Technical (SKT), Soldier (Technical), Soldier Nursing Assistant (NA) and for Re-enrolment into the Defence Security Corps (DSC) Category. The screening of candidates will commence at 6am on each day of the rally commencing from January 21.
The daily schedule of the rally is as follows (candidates are advised to be present at the venue of the rally accordingly):
On 21 January 2011, from 6am to 9am for candidates from Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Churachandpur districts only, for Soldier (GD) category.
On 22 January 2011, from 6 am to 9am for candidates from Senapati, Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Chandel districts only, for Soldier (GD) Category. On 23 January 2011 from 6am to 9am for candidates from all districts of Nagaland and Manipur for Soldier (Clk), Soldier (SKT), Soldier (Technical) and Soldier (NA) Category.
On 23 January 2011 from 9am to 10am for sons of serving soldiers/ex-servicemen/war widows of serving personnel and for NCC Certificate holders from all districts of Manipur only, for all categories, for sportsmen from all districts of Nagaland and Manipur who have played at the national/state or higher level in any recognized sports discipline and those who have played at the University level and earned 1st/2nd position within two years prior to day of screening for all categories and for re-enrolment into DSC category for candidates of Nagaland and Manipur.
From 24 January 2011 to 28 (except January 26 being Republic Day): Medical examination and documentation will be carried out. Medical examination will be conducted only for those candidates who have passed the physical fitness tests (PFT), physical measurement tests and whose documents are in order.
On 30 January 2011 from 7am onwards: Verification and conduct of written test for all selected medically fit candidates of all categories, except for Soldier (NA) and DSC categories.

Candidates have been advised not to fall prey to touts and persons posing as recruitment agents by demanding money from them, against promises of recruitment. “Such people will only cheat the candidates of their money as no money is required to be paid for recruitment carried out through the offices of the Army Recruiting Offices”, added the defence release.
