Verification of arms license in Wokha: SP Wokha informed that as per direction issued by the state home department police ‘B’ branch, verified genuine arms license except prohibited bore license would be released to the respective holders from January 27 at the office of the SP Wokha. Those who have submitted their arms license for verification to SIT (arms verification) have been directed to bring their original receipts during office hours.
CLP meet postponed: Meeting of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) to be held on January 21 has been postponed to January 28. The meeting will be held at the residence of Tokheho Yepthomi, CLP leader and leader of opposition at Naharbari, Dimapur. Members have been informed to take note of the changes and attend the meeting.
Coordination meeting held at Bhandari: In view of the forthcoming Republic Day celebration, a coordination meeting was held on January 18 at the office of ADC Bhandari where 26 members including head of offices, NGOs and public leaders attended. Work distribution for the Republic Day celebration was also discussed during the meet.
NNC UT clarifies: NNC UT chairman Z.H Sumi has clarified the news item published in local dailies on January 15. The NNC UT chairman in a press release stated that the name “Kechu Yimchunger” mentioned as town command under UT Area does not exist.
KBC annual meet: Kuki Baptist Church (KBC) Nagaland Youth Department will organize its 58th annual meet cum leadership training at Kuki Baptist Church Chumukedima from January 21 to 23. All youth leaders of local Churches have been requested to attend meet with five of its members respectively.
PUD general meet: Phiro union Dimapur has convened a general meeting on January 29 at 10am at Kindergarten school premises, Lake View colony.
BSU elects new team: Baghty Students’ Union (BSU) elected new team of office bearers for the tenure 2011-13 headed by Sulanthung Humtsoe as president, Thungchabemo Yanthan as general secretary, Chanchibemo Patton as finance secretary, and Renbemo Tungoe as games & sports secretary.
LSWDA jubilee planning board meet: Lazami Social Welfare Dimapur Area (LSWDA) jubilee planning board and souvenir board has convened an emergency meeting on January 19. The meeting would be held at the residence of welfare chairman Vikugha Phucho, fellowship colony Dimapur at 1pm.
MRUD general meeting: Moka Range Union Dimapur (MRUD) would conduct its 13th general meeting on January 22 at 10am at the residence of its union mission at Bor-Lengri.
NPF welcomes NCP legislators: NPF Kohima division has welcomed the decision taken by minister for agriculture Dr. Chumben Murry and parliamentary secretary for rural development Pangnyu Phom along with their supporters to merge with the NPF party. While welcoming them into the party fold, NPF Kohima division expressed hope that with the joining of the two NCP legislators, the leaders would strive harder for the welfare of the people of Nagaland.
TVSU elects new team: Tsutoho Village Students’ Union (TVSU) elected new team of office bearers for the tenure 2011-12 with Vitoka V as president, Alibo S as vice president, Ikavi V as general secretary among nine other office bearers and three advisory board members.
VFATI written entrance test: Principal Veterinary Field Assistant Training Institute (VFATI) Medziphema has informed that written entrance test for undergoing VFA training course 23rd batch would be held on January 24 at 10:30am at Medziphema. Intending candidates have been requested to collect admit card on January 29 and 21 from the office of the principal VFATI.
NCRCS ordain new reverends: Nagaland Christian Revival Church Sumi (NCRCS) ordained pastor Mishili Toqheho Swu and field secretary Ayinato Akhato Swu as reverends at a programme held at Pughoboto prayer centre on January 16. The ceremony was conducted by executive secretary Rev. Kiyezhe Chishi. Meanwhile, a new team of council office bearers was selected for the tenure of 2011-14 with Jehoshe Achumi as chairman, Vihuto Sheqi as vice chairman, Hekhevi Sumi as general secretary, and Kakugha Awomi as assistant general secretary.
KPC 11th foundation day: The Kohima Press Club (KPC) will be observing its 11th foundation day at its Conference Hall on January 20 at 11am. A release issued by KPC president K. V. Nurumi has informed all its members and well wishers to attend the function.
BYO condemns kidnapping and forgery case: The Bayavü Youth Organization (BYO) has condemned the incident on November 26, wherein two of its members of the colony were involved in a kidnapping and forgery case. Organization strongly condemned the anti-social activities of the culprits. The organization appreciated the timely action of the police and the authorities’ in-charge. The organization has urged the public and citizens to come forward to curb the anti-social activities hindering the well-being of the society.
