Ntu village resolve to foster unity

The 5th conference of the Ntulun Aruang (Ntu citizens) on January 6 concluded with conviction that unity, humility and endurance for truth could bestow God’s blessing on the people and the village.
The conference witnessed confluence of officers, students and lay persons from other parts of the state.
The conference was also marked by singing of the village anthem ‘Ntu luang’ and obituary reference in memory of 10 deceased members during 2010 by observing a minute of silence.
Addressing the gathering, Ntulun Aruang president and former Managing Director of Nagaland Handloom and Handicraft Corporation, Ringsanbo Madeliang, encouraged students to inculcate work culture and be diligent in their studies.
He advised students to be helpful to parents and learn to earn for their own personal expenses without depending on parents even as they pursue their education.
The president also encouraged both students and farmers to work hard and be self reliant.
Ntulun Aruang general secretary and secretary parliamentary affairs, APC Cell, Benjamin Newmai briefed on the past activities.
He concluded his remark by urging people to foster unity in the days to come.
HSLC toppers and NCS candidates were also felicitated on the ocassion.
N Silubo, Pastor Liangmai Baptist Church, Kohima, exhorted the gathering quoting reference from the Bible. He urged the students to be disciplined and to respect their parents and elders.
Earlier, the conference began with an invocation prayer by Kinlabo Rentta, Pastor Tening Town Baptist Church. Besides, he also exhorted the gathering wherein he implored the citizens to fear God in all their dealings and to forgive the misdeed of one another and work in unity to reclaim the past fame of the village.
Village Council chairman, Aningbo Kaurintah, in his welcome address thanked officials who labored hard to make the conference a success.
Later, a seminar on Economic Empowerment and Skill Development and Employment was conducted during the conference with Ringsanbo Madeliang and Neiba Newmai, Superintendent of Police (Vigilance) as the resource person.
The village also elected its office bearers for the tenure 2011-13 with Neiba Newmai as president, K Aningbo Kaurinta as vice president, Volie Rentta as secretary, K Dinsubo as assistant secretary, Akengiu as treasurer, Dimunthin Newmai (Dimapur), Ratan Kaurintah (Kohima), Namdinbu (Jalukie Area), Newwangbo (Samziuram), Agabo (Peren/Tening) and Mairiwibo (Ntu) as assistant treasurers.
