True to the expectation and motive of Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) in organizing Nagaland Prayer Festival to be a special festival of healing for the spiritual renewal of people, the concluding day of the three-day programme on Sunday proved it right with the response of nearly 50,000 people who turned up to witness and revive their spiritual life at Agri Expo site, 4th Mile Dimapur.
Speaking in the evening Dr. Paul Dhinakaran of Jesus Calls Ministry called upon the multitude of people attending the festival to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit to fulfill the future plan of God in man. Reminding the crowd on the miraculous works of the Holy Spirit, Dr. Paul referred the Bible verse John 16:13 and said that the Holy Spirit of God would guide into truth and reveal one’s future plan if one sought it diligently.
Preaching from the book of Isaiah 28:11 and the Gospel of John 16:8, Dr. Paul said the Holy Spirit would speak in different and unknown tongues with His Holiness and that God would give new tongue and the power to overcome temptations if one accepted the Holy Spirit.
There will be unity in the family and one would succeed in every field and be more than conquerors of the world if the Holy Spirit is present in them, he added.
Speaking about the power of the Holy Spirit in overcoming tribulations and problems in life, Dr. Paul picked the passage from Romans 8:26; 1 Corinthians 10:3 and Mark 16:17 and said the holy Spirit showed the way and worked miracles of overcoming the stronghold of sins and weaknesses when one receive the Holy Spirit.
He also emphasized on the theme of the prayer festival ‘Your sorrow shall be turned into joy’ taken from John 16:20 and called upon the congregation to seek Jesus and pray so that affliction and sorrow would be turned into joy. He said people should keep on praising and glorifying God as miracles were happening everywhere. Dr. Paul also urged the congregation to make Dimapur Prayer Tower near Axis Bank, Purana Bazaar as a house of prayer or to call at 224224 for any prayer request. He urged upon the people to pray for other people if they wanted to solve their problems as God showers abundant blessings to those who pray for others.
The evening was marked with testimony sharing by people who overcame anguish and problems of life and suffering through the sermon and prayer of Dr. Paul. The preacher also prayed for the sick people in God’s name after which some people testified that their sicknesses were cured miraculously.
Member of Rajya Sabha from Nagaland, Khekiho Zhimomi also attended the festival.
Meanwhile, in the morning, delivering sermon at Chekiye Baptist Church, Dr. Paul urged the people not to fear the evil as God’s eyes were always set on them. He said God was ever ready to help the faithful in times of tribulations if they rested their faith on Him. Dr. Paul exhorted the people not to think that God would punish them for not leading a holy life. “He is a loving God and He knows our weaknesses,” Dr. Paul said and added that the Heavenly Father would pull out the people from all their weaknesses. He said no man was holy and that was the reason why Jesus came to earth to intercede for the people. “His eyes are always on you, to console you and keep you as a child of God,” Dr. Paul said.
The preacher reminded the congregation that the reason for God setting His eyes on the people was that their body was His temple. “You are the heart of God, let your heart not be troubled because when you give your heart to God, He will always look at you with great love,” Dr. Paul said. He also exhorted the congregation not to expect the same kind of blessing which has been bestowed on others as God’s blessings for each person was unique and different. Dr. Paul prayed for the sick and also those who were appearing examinations.
