Admn, health dept to inspect hostels

DIMAPUR: District education officer (DEO) Asono Ndang, has informed hostel proprietors that administration and medical department would be conducting inspection to all hostels.
All hostel proprietors have been requested to cooperate and put up a sign board for easy location. Failing to comply with the notification, DEO added permit would be cancelled with immediate effect against the defaulters.
26 Aonglenden ACCC to announce candidate

DIMAUR: Office of 26 Aonglenden ACCC, Mokokchung Congress committee has informed that Congress party would announce its candidate for the coming by-elections only when the election commission declares the election date.
The party would elect a strong and capable candidate who would be able to lead the people of Aonglenden constituency, 26ACCC president Temken Longkumer and general secretary Imsu Jamir stated this in a press statement
The statement also added that it was reported in “many papers” stating there was no Congress candidate from Aonglenden constituency during a general meeting on January 26 at the residence of its treasurer for all office bearers from 7 units under 26 ACCC.
The general meeting further discussed the position of the party and members expressed confidence that whoever contested in the by election would be elected.
One injured in hit and run case

KOHIMA, FEB 14 (NPN): A youth was critically injured in a hit and run case along NH-29 at Phesama village Sunday evening.
According to a report received, the victim identified as one Visheto Kar (23) s/o Zhalezo Kar of Phesama village was hit by an Alto which sped away towards Kohima.
The incident took place at around 6pm near the junction of the village road connecting the highway.
The victim was reported to have received head injuries and later admitted at a city hospital in Kohima.
Meanwhile, the Alto involved in the hit and run case, bearing registration no. NL-07 8809 which was involved in the hit and run incident was later intercepted at Phesama check gate and the driver identified as one Temjen Jamir arrested.
The driver was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol when the incident took place, added sources.
