Prashant weds Dimapur girl: Indian Idol 2007, Prashant Tamang married a Dimapurian, Martha Aley, daughter of R.K. Aley and Abha Aley (Micky). Their wedding reception will be held on February 16 at Niathu Resort, Chumekedima from 2 to 5pm. In this regard, the Dimapur Gorkha Union has extended their heartfelt congratualation to newly wed couple and wished them best of luck in future in their journey of life together.
WYH joint meeting: Western Yimchungrii Hoho (WYH) has convened a joint meeting with the three apex bodies - YTC/YAA/WYH on February 16, 10am at the residence of its banker, old Showuba village, Dimapur.
RBC general public meeting: River Belt Colony (RBC) has convened a general public meeting on February 26, 3:30pm at the residence of its treasurer.
Spiritual awakening and healing crusade: New Calvary Nagamese Church (NCNC), Christian City Church (C3) and Succoth Ministry (SM) would be organizing spiritual a awakening and healing crusade from February 17-19, 3pm at New Calvary Nagamese Church (NCNC), HBI, campus Ekranipathar (Dubagoan charali) Dimapur. Rev Loosmore from Australia would be the speaker.
ANTA 1st executive meeting: All Nagaland Taxi Association (ANTA) has convened its 1st executive meeting on February 21, 12noon at the union’s head quarter, Kohima.
Album release: Imlinochet would be releasing his debut gospel music album entitled ‘Déjà vu….for Christ’ featuring various artists on February 17, 4pm at Sinai café, Dimapur. Editor The Letter Age, Joel Nillo Kath would be dedicating the programme.
New Building for GB’s and VDB’s: The new building for GB’s and VDB’s was inaugurated by G. Kaito Aye minister for roads and bridges at Satakha on February 15. Stating the building was first of its kind in Sumi area G. Kaito Aye appealed GB’s and VDB’s to cooperate and support government for further development in the area. The chief guest thanked GB’s and VDB’s for their cooperation, and also DC Zunheboto T. Kiheto Sema, DRDA department and all the heads of the department at Satakha.
BJYM for extension of opening bank account: The state Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has appealed the directorate of education to extend the last date for opening of bank accounts by students in view of the ongoing exams.
SVWS seize banned items: Sovima Village Women Society (SVWS) conducted a surprise checking on Monday and seized large quantities of alcohol from sector E and D khel and banned drug from C khel. The seized items were later destroyed in full public view. Meanwhile, SVWS appealed the business community not to indulge in selling the banned items and also warned of strict actions against defaulters.
NWC women seminar: Nagaland Women Commission (NWC) would be organising women’s seminar on February 18 at Pughoboto and February 25 at Tuli from 10am onwards on the theme “towards new horizon”. Special emphasis would be laid on legal rights of women, importance of girl child’s education, women and health and empowerment of education. The commission has requested 5 delegates from each village representing a woman church leader, woman representative of VDB, Anganwadi worker, village ASHA worker and chairman or head GB of village to attend the seminar.
SAPO general meeting: Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) has called for a general meeting on February 19, 10am at SAPO Council Hall Jakhama.
KBCK on fire at CM’s residence: Kuki Baptist Church Kohima (KBCK) has expressed sadness over the unfortunate fire incident on February 8 at CM’s official residence, Kohima. The Church members further conveyed solidarity to the chief minister and family.
ZPO consultative cum executive council meet: A consultative cum executive council meet of the Zeliang People Organization (ZPO) will be held on February 25, 11am at Crown Hotel near town hall, Dimapur. The meeting hosted by L. Meru, ex-MLA and advisor would discuss and review executive resolution of November 17, 2010 and other related issues concerning the welfare of the community. ZPO said special invitation has been extended to AK Lungalang, RK Wiza, Kevipelie Iheilubng and Hungambo Chawang all Zeliang legislators both sitting and former VCC and Head GB of Mhai-Dungki and Jalukie Old, President Zeme and Liangmai councils and frontal organizations- ZOA, ZSU, ZWO, YF, ZPO (Dimapur), ZSU (Dimapur) two delegates each to attend the meeting without fail.
WTC notifies public: Administrator Wokha Town Council (WTC), Athel O. Lotha has notified public and shopkeepers that anybody keeping articles in shops would be doing at his or her own risk. The administrator further informed those found quarrelling over such cases, would be dealt seriously as per law. Further in the notification, it was stated that the directive was issued in the light of problems arising due to keeping articles in shops.
New DYC president for Dimapur and Mokokchung: President of Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) has appointed Longri Imchen and Toshiakum as the officiating president of District Youth Congress, Dimapur and Mokokchung respectively. The newly appointed officiating presidents have been directed to take charge of office till the appointment of new president.
VP, ACCI resigns: Vitsalhou Kesiezie, vice president of ACCI, Kohima district has resigned from the active and primary membership of the Congress party owing to added responsibility in the village as the village council chairman of Mengujuma village, Kohima district. Kesiezie while thanking the party leadership and his colleagues for their support and cooperation regretted his inability to continue serving the party.
Medical camp at Suruhuto: The 21 Assam Rifles conducted a free medical camp on February 11 at Suruhuto village under aegis of headquarters 7 Sector Assam Rifles. A team comprising of two doctors and five medical staff conducted the camp. Around 150 patients including ladies and children received free dental treatment and free medicines. The camp was conducted from morning till evening to attend to the patients from far away villages.
Meeting on Census at Peren: A meeting of census community monitors with village and ward representatives of Peren Sadar, Peren town and Ngwalwa Charge was held on February 15 at DC conference Hall Peren. The meeting was held in the presence of Khrienuo C. Metha, deputy commissioner Peren, SDO (C) Peren (Sadar), SDO (C) Ngwalwa and census nodal officers Peren. The visiting officials interacted with village/ward representatives on the ongoing population enumeration process. Around 50 representatives attended the meeting.
SKK to elect new team: Election of new office bearers for All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) 46th session (2011-2013) would be held on February 18, 11am at Town Hall, Zunheboto. Nomination would be open on February 17 at 4pm and close on February 18, 8:30am, scrutiny would be done between 8:30am -9:30am while withdrawal of nomination would be done between 9:30am-10:30 am. SKK informed that discussion hour would be held on February 17, 2pm, at circuit house, Zunheboto.
ASU condoles: Asukhomi Students’ Union (ASU) has mourned the demise of Niholi Shohe, who passed away on February 5 at Kohima. The union further conveyed condolence to the bereaved family.
Lost and found: GPRN/NSCN, union territory-1 has informed that one Bajaj Platina, bearing chassis No MD2DDDZZZPWF60260 and engine No. DUMBPF59688 is under the custody of union territory-1 office GPRN/NSCN, Khehoi designate camp. The rightful owner has been requested to claim the same by producing original documents and driving licence within seven days.
