The final hearing on the public interest litigation on reservation policy that was earlier fixed on February 14 at Gauhati High Court has been deferred and fixed on March 3. Highly placed sources from Guwahati said that the final hearing on CPO’s PIL on reservation policy which was supposed to be taken up by the Gauhati High Court on Monday was not picked by the court. Sources said that the Gauhati High Court had shifted the hearing to March 3 in a decision taken on Tuesday. Earlier, the chief secretary in a clarification had reiterated the reason for not declaring the result of LDA-cum-Computer Assistants examination till date was due to high court’s order dated October 4, 2010, directing the state government “not to finalise the selection, and act upon the same, without leave of the court.”
