State NCP new team: A new team of office bearers for Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Nagaland was appointed as per the authorization of NCP national general secretary in-charge North-East, P.A. Sangma. The new team would include Er. Levi Rengma as working president, Hotongse Sangtam, Akuna and Metpong Phom as vice presidents, Miathou Krose, Chini Magh and Munthem Newmai as general secretaries, Vitseizo, Ase Yalie and N Alemla Jamir as secretaries.
T. Khel Belho clan meet: The Belho clan of T. Khel Kohima village general meeting cum get-together would be held on March 19 at Shüsezhou, Meriema. In this regard there would be a household contribution from every family. Election for the new tenure (2011-2013) will also be conducted. Meanwhile, there will be an organising committee meeting on February 21, 6pm at the residence of Vikietuo Belho, president, Belho youth organisation.
Lord and Lady Baden Powell birthday celebration: Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG) headquarter staff would be celebrating the joint birthday of Lord and Lady Baden Powell on February 22 at its office, Bayavü Hill Kohima at 12 noon. Flag hoisting will be held at 11:45 am. Members have been requested to attend the program.
CYF executive council meeting: Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has convened an executive council meeting on February 25, 11 am at town hall Pfütsero. All former presidents, advisory board members, building committee members, senior leaders and two representatives from affiliated units have been requested to attend the meeting.
ZSB Kohima Ex-servicemen: All ex-servicemen and ESM widows under Zila Sainik Board (ZSB) Kohima has been informed to visit ZBS Kohima office from February 18 onwards along with ration card, ID and Rs. 120 for issue of rations.
Mobile weighbridge test van inauguration: Department of legal metrology and consumer protection has informed that Mobile Weighbridge test van would be inaugurated on February 19, 11 am at the premises of M/S SK Weighbridge, Diphu road, Dimapur. K T Sukhalu, secretary to government of Nagaland, department of legal metrology and consumer protection would grace the function as chief guest.
DDPA emergency meeting: Dimapur District Pensioners’ Association has convened an emergency executive meeting on February 22, 11 am at its office.
TUD to observe Tenyimi day: Tenyimi Union Dimapur (TUD) would be observing Tenyimi Day on February 22, 10 am at its office premises. All executive members, unit presidents and office bearers, students and women presidents and office bearers have been requested to attend the programme.
Grade-IV employees’ association new team: All Nagaland State Grade IV Employees’ Association held its meeting on October 15 at Kohima and elected its new office bearers for the tenure 2011-13. The new team would be led by Thungyamo as president, Xukishi Chishi as vice president, L Khameng as general secretary, Imlitemjen as joint secretary and Vikho Domih as treasurer.
Lost and found: A white coloured vehicle (Maruti 800) was found at Sovima village ‘G’ Khel with registration No.D12CD0661, chassis No.502693 and engine No.742286. The rightful owner has been requested to contact Sovima Youth Organization vice president- 9856305305 or joint secretary- 9615582719.
Peren census help desk numbers: SDO (C) & district census officer, Sentiwapang Aier has informed that help desk numbers for Peren district in connection with the ongoing phase II of census operations have been opened in all three centres: deputy commissioner office Peren- 9402846201, SDO (C) office Jalukie- 03839-220222 and SDO (C) office Tening- 9436605192.
Ration for ex-servicemen/widows: Zila Sainik welfare organizers have informed all ex-servicemen and widows that payment ration would be issued on February 23. All have been requested to report to 50 Coy ASC (Sup) to collect ration.
National science day celebration: In commemoration of national science day, one day science seminar would be organized for all secondary schools (both government and private) of Kohima town on February 28, 10 am at LCS building, near Ao church, Kohima. The event is being sponsored by department of science & technology on the theme ‘Chemistry in our Lives’. Convener organizing committee of NSD has requested participating schools to send at least four students along with a guide. Interested schools have requested to contact 8014876824 and 9436814444 before February 26.
RCN general meeting: Rongmei Council Nagaland (RCN) has convened a general meeting on February 26, 11 am at Ragailong council hall, Burma camp Dimapur. All unit presidents have been requested to arrange necessary conveyance for their representative. Former members, elders and leaders have been requested to attend the meeting.
XVSU condemns murder: Xelhozhe Village Students’ Union (XVSU) has condemned the murder of one auto driver Pradip Singh, who was found murdered near Xelhozhe village on February 14. The union urged law enforcing agency to book the culprit at the earliest and award punishment.
AR donates Sintex to Aghunato village: Two Sintex water tanks of 1500 ltr capacity each were presented to Ahunato village under Zunheboto district by 21 Assam Rifles on February 14. The project was executed by 21 Assam Rifles, as part of DGAR Civic Action Proj under the aegis of Headquarter 7 Sector Assam Rifles. Since there was no provision of water storage at Aghunato village, there used to be acute scarcity of water during summer season. The gesture by the 21 Assam Rifles would immensely benefit the people and solve their longstanding water problem.
Gutkhas seized in Zunhebtoto: Zunheboto Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ZCCI) in collaboration with security forces under Zunhebtoto police station seized huge quantities of Gutkhas (Tez) worth `3,00,000 approximately. The seized gutkhas allegedly belonging to one Lalu, a regular supplier of banned items, was later burned in the presence of district magistrate, DBs and prominent citizens of the town. ZCCI secretary, Mito Yeptho has cautioned businessmen indulging in such illegal activity and dishonoring the business community would be strictly dealt with.
Teacher’s effectiveness training: Don Bosco Alumni Association (DBAA) on February 15 organized ‘teachers effectiveness training’ at Don Bosco youth center. Altogether 112 teachers from 17 schools in Wokha attended the training. The inaugural programme was chaired by N. Janbemo Humtsoe, president Don Bosco alumni Wokha while invocation was pronounced by Fr. C. Mathew, principal DBHSS Wokha. The event was graced by Anthony Ngullie, SDO Sadar Wokha as special guest and Fr. P.C. Cyriac sdb. director, Don Bosco Youth Center, Itanagar was the resource person.
ARSU condemns alleged life attempt: Akuluto Range Students’ Union (ARSU) has strongly condemned the alleged attempt on a student’s life by Khekato “leacy” GPRN/NSCN on February 14. Union stated such “un-civic senses” would hamper the peaceful co-existence between the society and “national workers”.
