NE political parties to meet in Delhi

With the objective to form a common platform of like minded political parties in the Northeast region; regional political parties of the NE are meeting on February 20 at New Delhi.
The meeting has been convened by the National Congress Party (NCP) sidelining the Congress party of the Northeast. NCP, national secretary PA Sangma invited Manipur People Party (MPP), Dr Luwang said.
The chief ministers of Nagaland and Sikkim, Neiphiu Rio and Pawan Kumar Chamling respectively, met the NCP leader recently and expressed the need to discuss the problems plaguing the Northeast.
P.A. Sangma said that the meeting’s agenda would be to find an early solution to the demands of various militant groups currently under ceasefire and also to offer suggestions to the governments in the Northeast to speed up development.
