Census review meeting in various districts

Central census observer from government of Nagaland, in-charge of Phek district, Norman Putsure, IAS, visited and interacted with census charge officers, master trainers, supervisors and enumerators of Phek sadar, Khuza circle and Phek town on February 18.
Later on the same day, he also visited Chizami and Pfutsero and held meeting with charge officers and other census functionaries. As part of his inspection tour, he also visited Meluri on February 17. On his visit, he called on census functionaries to be sincere and diligent in the mammoth census operation and to bring out a correct census report.He cross-checked on the works of the enumerators and hinted that he would be visiting places where census figures were inflated, stating that census enumeration should be differentiated from that of electoral enumeration.
Deputy commissioner Phek, Mikha Lomi and charge officer of Khuza circle SDO (C), Razhouvolie Dozo also met census enumerators and other village functionaries of Chepoketa, Khuza and Mutsale and had interaction.
MON: Deputy Commissioner Mon, Dinesh Kumar IAS inspected Tizit and Naginimora circle on February 16 to verify the ongoing census operation and conducted a meeting with enumerators and supervisors at Tizit, stressing on the importance of accurate and genuine data. He visited few households in Tizit town and Lapa Lampong for on-spot verification of already filled-in schedules while a team comprising of EAC Tizit, EAC Mon and census nodal officer was sent to Neitong village and Yanpan village for spot verification. At Naginimora, after conducting a meeting with enumerators and supervisors, the DC also visited households in Hotahoti village to cross check census schedules.
It was reported that few errors were detected in both the circles, for which, enumerators were directed to take corrective measures. DC meanwhile stated census operation was going on in full swing in the district and also appreciated the quality of work of the enumerators, supervisors and charge officers.
JALUKIE: In Jalukie, a meeting of 2nd phase census, community monitors, village council and GBs and enumerators was held at civil SDO office Jalukie on February 18 under the chairmanship of SDO (C) Jalukie L. Jamithung. Brief introduction was given by SDO (C) Jalukie. Representatives from NMA who also attended the meeting appealed to the people to cooperate with the government and help the enumerators to give correct census.
She also highlighted on the important sectors of census and said ‘you are responsible person, so check and correct information’. The meeting was attended by village council members, enumerators and GBs.
SECHÜ ZUBZA: A general meeting in connection with the ongoing phase II census was held on February 17 with the public leaders of Sechü Zubza Circle in the office of the SDO (C) Sechü Zubza. In the meeting, the community monitors for Kohima district along with officials and nodal officers from census department interacted with the village council chairman, head GBs, student’s leaders and youth leaders along with census supervisors and enumerators. SDO (C) and charge officer, Sechü Zuba, Akunu S. Meyase who chaired the meeting gave an introduction about the ongoing census operation in the area. Vivi Nyuthe, executive secretary and community monitor exhorted the area leaders on the need for correct census. Zeneivi, member NGPS and community monitor also spoke on census and reiterated the need for an honest and accurate census.
The nodal officer from census department led by assistant director N. Semy also participated in the interaction and clarified various issues and queries related to the ongoing census operation. The team of officials also later visited Menguzuma, Kiruphe Bawe and Peducha village and interacted with the public. A number of households were also crosscheck and verified.
TENING and ATHIBUNG: Community sensitization meeting on Census was held at Tening and Athibung on February 16 and 17 with community representative. 60 VCCs and GBs from Tenning and 79 VCCs and GBs from Athibung attended the programme along with SDO Tening T. Nchumbemo Odyuo, EAC Athibung Temsuwati, and resource persons included Naga Hoho publicity secretary Daipao, NMA joint secretary Swami Leyri, Theja Theyo, nodal officer directorate census office Pichano kikon.
