Bore wells, first of its kind in Zunheboto town, was installed through the initiative of department of geology and mining.
The bore wells were dug in order to utilize the underground water reserve to its maximum potential, stated a release from Nitovi Yeptho, GB chairman and L. Hotopu Yeptho, secretary, elders committee of Khuwaboto.
In this regard, the elders committee of Khuwaboto and North Point Colony of Zunheboto Town expressed gratitude to Dr. KC Nihoshe, parliamentary secretary, industries and commerce for successfully installing a bore well in their colonies.
The committee also informed that parliamentary secretary on Tuesday, along with Deputy Commissioner Zunhebtoo Kiheto Sumi and government officials visited the project.
During his visit, the parliamentary secretary assured that more drillings would be undertaken in other parts of the town and consequently build a control room to centralize water distribution.
He also thanked the concerned department for successful implementation of the scheme.
Elders Committee of Khuwaboto also thanked the state government and hoped more developments would take place in days to come.
