KSU on wildlife preservation: Kangching Students’ Union under Longleng district has resolved to preserve forests and wildlife. The union in this regard banned use of catapults, gun and chemicals in rivers within its jurisdiction.
KLC meeting: Kyong Literature Committee (KLC) meeting has been convened on February 26 at 10am at Kyong Academy hall, Likya Yankho, Wokha.
ANFSA-PHED general meeting: General meeting of All Nagaland Field staff Association (ANFSA-PHED) has been convened on February 23, 10am at PWD Panchayat hall, Kohima. The association would also elect new office bearers for the next term. All units have been requested to attend the meeting with at least 5 to 10 members along with valuable suggestion and to submit dues for 2009 and 2010 on or before February 21.
ICDP schemes yet to be released: All Nagaland Cooperative Societies Federation (ANCSF) in its executive meeting on February 16 deliberated on ICDP schemes in Mon, Zunheboto and Dimapur districts. In a release ANCSF said funds which were allotted to cooperative societies in three districts was yet to be released to the beneficiary societies. The ANCSF therefore urged the department to release the fund at the earliest for early implementation of various schemes without delay.
NCSU on Feb 8 incident: The Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU) expressed its solidarity over the unfortunate fire incident at the official residence of the chief minister, Neiphiu Rio on February 8. “This incident causes lot of convenience to the family members in particular and a great loss to Nagas in general” stated a release from NCSU and expressed its deepest sympathy to the Chief Minister family members.
New assn GEEAN formed: Unemployed graduate electrical engineers has formed an association with the nomenclature ‘GEEAN’ for the social and well being of all unemployed graduate electrical engineers for better opportunities and common good. SABAK women board tour Kolkata: SABAK women board members led by women secretary, Katoli Swu, women board chairperson, Shetoli P. Swu and its co-members went on an exposure tour to Mother Teresa Home and its branches at Kolkata from January 17 – 24. The team visited handicap home, orphanage and elderly sick home of Mother Teresa, where she began her charity work. Women board chairperson informed that the team donated some cash towards the Home and its branches besides visiting places of interest like Nicco Park, Science City and Queen Victoria Memorial Park. Further, Aphuyemi women Board Pughoboto has expressed gratitude to all those individual and families who helped financially and through prayer.
Two held for extortion: Dimapur Police on Friday arrested two persons including a student of Salt Christian College, near Clock Tower, Dimapur, while extorting money from a shop around 3pm. Police said the duo were caught red handed by alert police personnel, while demanding Rs.5000 from each shop in the area in the name of All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU). The accused were identified as Vikshe of Zingti village, Zunheboto and Abel of Ikiye Village, Satoi sub-division under Zunheboto district. Police also recovered Rs.10, 780 and ANCSU letter pads from their possession.
Illegal drugs seized: Narcotic enforcement cell of excise department, in a preventive measure on illegal sale and trafficking of drug, raided a suspected place near new field check gate area Dimapur and seized 14400 capsules of spasmo proxyvon on Thursday. According to excise department, one person was arrested in this connection and remanded to judicial custody under relevant section of Drug and Cosmetic Act 1940. The raid was carried out under the command of Thathang AIE.
NICGOA meeting: General body meeting of Nagaland industries and commerce gazetted officers’ association (NICGOA) has been convened on February 23, 1pm in the conference hall of the directorate of industries and commerce Kohima. All members have been informed to attend the meeting to deliberate on urgent matters and to submit annual membership fees.
ROP-2010 short term training held: Short term training programme on ROP-2010, fixation of pay on promotion, ACP, MACPS, new pension riles and related matters was conducted by treasuries and accounts, training institute Purana Bazar, Dimapur on February 17 and 18. The programme was attended by sr. accounts officers, accounts officers, audit officers posted in various departments of the state. The programme was inaugurated by director of treasuries and accounts Nagaland.
G.B association, ATC condemn life attempt: Akuluto Area G.B. Association and Akuluto town council (ATC) have condemned the February 14 firing incident where Khekato Kinny (leacy) GPRN/NSCN fired upon Jepika Kinny, son of Kheto Kinny MLA. The association appealed the state government and GPRN/NSCN to investigate the matter and take action at the earliest.
CBCC Dimapur men’s fellowship: Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) Dimapur area would be organizing men’s fellowship on March 12, 8am at Naga United Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. V. K Nuh and Rev. Dr. P. Dozo as guest speakers.
NPF Phek division meet: Phek Division, NPF executive members meeting would be held on March 1, 2pm at Hotel Japfu, Kohima. NPF Phek division press secretary Veduvo Rhakho has requested all elected representatives from Phek district, CEC members and leaders, president of frontal organizations of both women and youth wing, area A/C presidents, general secretary to attend the meeting.
JTK emergency meet: In view of Angami Sekrenyi festival celebration on February 25, members of Japfu Tati Krotho has convened an emergency meeting on February 21, 2pm at Viswema Baptist Fellowship Kohima (PWD).
PTCSU irked by irregular power supply: Pfutsero Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) has expressed concern on the irregularity of power supply in and around Pfutsero town. The union expressed that regular power cut would hamper the students’ performance in the exam and sought for best service from the department at the time of examination.
Sensitization program on RTE Act: Asono Ndang, district education officer, Dimapur has informed all head masters of government high schools and private high schools to attend a sensitization programme on RTE Act on February 25, 10am at town hall Dimapur.
AZSU (AMN) 34th Dimki session: All Zeliangrong Students’ Union Assam, Manipur and Nagaland (AZSU AMN) would be holding its 34th Dimki session on February 24, 10am at Ze (Yangkhullen) village Senapati district Manipur. All senior leaders, tribunals AZSU, executive council of federal units, Zeliangrong frontal organization and public leaders have been requested to attend the Dimki.
CWS fasting prayer: Chishilimi Wefare Society (CWS) would be organizing a fasting prayer programme on February 22. All Chishilimia have been requested to arrange the programme as per the resolution made in general meeting 2008.
SJP national executive meeting: Socialist Janata Party (SJP) Nagaland state unit has convened a national executive meeting comprising of all 28 states on February 27, 10:30am at South Delhi.
2nd meeting of Nagaland solar city stakeholder: The department of new and renewable energy- Nagaland has convened its 2nd meeting on Nagaland solar city stakeholder on February 22, 11am at Hotel Japfu Kohima. Deo Nukhu, Advisor, NRE, government of Nagaland would be the chief guest.
