Model dairy farm at Mokokchung

Model dairy farm run by Earth Farmers Society (EFS) of Chuchuyimpang village, to be jointly operated by EFS and Nagaland State Dairy Cooperative Federation (NSDCF) under public private partnership (PPP) was formerly inaugurated on February 16.
The dairy farm was inaugurated by senior advisor, Confederation of Indian Industry, M. Bendangnukshi Longkumer. NSDCF project director Alhoyokha, officials from veterinary and animal husbandry, Chuchuyimpang village council members and EFS members were present at the function.
In his inaugural speech, Bendangnukshi Longkumer urged EFS to make the model dairy farm live up to its name in the district. Stating that the department provided all its needs in the principle of PPP, Longkumer reminded the society to do the rest to make their farm feasible and viable.
Referring to the views of the project director NSDCF on development of diary farming in Mokokchung district, Longkumer expressed gratitude for having confidence in the people of Mokokchung district.
He also assured of all possible help towards model diary farm. The project director in his speech encouraged the society to make the farm as one of the major suppliers of milk to milk chilling plant Mokokchung.
EFS also thanked NSDCF and veterinary department for having confidence and selecting their farm as a model farm in the district. They also expressed appreciation to minister for veterinary & AH T.R. Zeliang, commissioner and secretary Thangi Manen and director for providing farm requirements.
Rani Gaidinliu remembered

Dimapur: Zeliangrong Students’ Union, Delhi (ZSUD) observed the 17th death anniversary of Rani Gaidinliu on February 17 in Delhi. The observation began with a floral tribute to Rani Gaidinliu, followed by speech from Linda Newmai on the life account of the legendary leader.
The union also held a general meeting where it elected new executives headed by M. Poukindin as president, Pousalung Kamei as vice president and Daniel Chawang as general secretary.
