On the occasion of 17th ‘Tenyimi Day’ on February 22, the Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization (TPO), Nagaland, Manipur and Assam states President Z. M. Sekhose has extended Tenyimi Day greetings to Tenyimi family consisting of Angami, Chakhesang, Inpui, Maram, Memei, Pochury, Poumai, Rengma, Thangal and Zeliangrong.
TPO president in a press release said the Tenyimi as a people of blood brothers and as an entity chose to celebrate February 22 as Tenyimi Day every year.
“The ten fraternal brothers constitute the Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization which unlike any other organizations was deeply rooted as the Tenymi carried the same blood, common ancestry, tradition and culture”, said TPO while adding that it was the reason that Tenyimi are today standing together as a big family and a fraternal entity.
TPO president called upon each and every Tenyimi to be positive in their outlook and aim to excel and not to forget inherent values and rich heritage that have been passed down to Tenyimi by its great forefathers. He also called upon each and every Tenyimi wherever they are, to observe the Tenyimi Day in a befitting manner and also to renew its pledge to commit themselves to one another as brothers and sisters and march ahead together.
