Training on agriculture and allied departments

One day training on agriculture and allied department was held on February 18. The programme organized by W/Ralan block, ATMA Wokha at Ralan village was headed by Zuthunglo Erui, BTT convener, W/Ralan block
The training was held with the objective to create awareness and to provide hands on information on the basic knowledge on agriculture and allied activities for the uplift of farming community.
The training programme was chaired by Nchumbemo Tsanglao, BTT member, veterinary department Wokha and welcome address by Mongkio Odyuo, BTT member agriculture department Wokha. The team convener highlighted on the activities of ATMA as well as aims and objectives of the training to participants.
In the technical session, selection of good and viable seeds was delivered by Mhonchumo Lotha, agriculture department Wokha, contour bounding and soil conservation by Zubemo Lotha, BTT member, soil department and paddy-cum-fish culture by Zubonthung Ezung, BTT member, fishery department.
Altogether seventy farmers participated in the training programme. The training concluded with vote of thanks by Thungbemo, AFA Wokha.
Meanwhile, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Tesophenyu, Kohima district conducted a-day training on management of field crops under the sponsorship of Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Kohima on February 18 at Panchayat Hall, Kandinu village. In the first session, Imtisenla SMS (Agronomy) spoke on “Management of field crops with special reference to pulses” while the resource person, Zhiete SMS (soil and water conservation) stressed on “Soil and its relation to crops”.
Around 30 progressive farmers attended the training.
The programme was chaired by Longmayanger SMS (Agriculture Extension) and vote of thanks by Chaithong, ex-chairman, Kandinu village.
