State level quiz
Dimapur: State level quiz programme organised by rural development department would be conducted on March 4 at Kohima. All project directors have been requested to nominate two VDB, VC members from each district to participate in the quiz.
SIRD director Limasenla Jamir has informed DRDA Wokha who had already nominated participants, to send them to SIRD latest by March 2 for trial and the rest to nominate participants directly to director SIRD on or before February 25 either through special messenger or by email or telephone. `50,000, `30,000 and `20,000 would be awarded to first, second and third positions which is being sponsored by parliamentary secretary RD Pangnyu, commissioner and secretary RD V. Sakhrie and director SIRD Limasenla respectively.
Assam-Ao Naga peace meet on Feb 25
MOKOKCHUNG: The Ao senden, (Hoho) would be organizing a peace meet under the slogan ‘Assam-Ao Naga Peace and Confidence Building Meet’ on February 25 at Tsuremen village under Mokokchung district.
According to Ao Senden the meet will have participants from all sections of people including ministers, MLAs, intellectuals and civil society leaders from both the states.
While speaking to the general secretary of Ao Senden, Yimsunungsang Jamir, said that the meeting is ‘Goodwill meet’ to maintain the age old relations between the Aos and the Assamese. He also said three MLAs from Assam (Jorhat, Mariani and Amguri) have confirmed their participation in the meet and added that all 10 Ao MLAs are expected to attend the meeting including the Border Peace Coordination Committee (Nagaland-Assam) members.
According to an official bulletin, the meet would also be attended by Tai-Ahom students union of Assam and leaders of various organizations from both sides.
Seminar on MGNREG Act
DIMAPUR: Directorate of field publicity, ministry of information & broadcasting, government of India would be organising a one-day seminar on Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act on February 24, 10:30 am at Hotel Japfu, Kohima.
According to an official bulletin, resource speakers for the seminar are Pukhayi Assumi, ex-minister, vice president, Naga People’s Front, R. Paphino, ex-MLA, chairman, Nagaland Pradesh Congress committee vigilance cell, Kezhokhoto Savi, advocate and president, Nagaland voluntary consumer organisation, T. Shiya, general secretary, Naga People’s Front and Vaprumu Demo, general secretary, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee.
Keynote address would be delivered by additional director general, A. Lassa, directorate of field publicity, ministry of information & broadcasting, Government of India.
