NPF to launch party in Manipur soon

: The Naga People’s Front will soon launch the party in the neighbouring Manipur state as part of its decision to expand the party.
A delegation of the NPF party officials led by planning minister T.R Zeliang had returned to Kohima after holding a consultative meeting with all the tribal leaders from the four Naga inhabited district of Senapati, Tamenlong, Ukhrul and Chandel at Senapati Tuesday.
The meeting held at Naga Taphou Community Hall adopted resolution for opening a unit of the party
During the meeting, the tribal leaders had reportedly welcomed the proposed launching of the NPF party and expressed its readiness anytime. The tribal leaders also urged the NPF delegates to launch the party as soon as possible.
The NPF party officials which also consist of it Vice President Zaku Tsukru, General Secretary I.Yanger Jamir, former Commissioner Nagaland T N Mannen and Advocate Timikha Koza were scheduled for two days tour on chopper to the four Naga inhabited districts of Manipur - Chandel, Ukhrul, Tamenglong and Senapati.
However, the Manipur Government allegedly denied the NPF delegate permissions for landing chopper inside Manipur including even the helipad of the Indian security forces.
In this regard, the NPF delegates were forced to travel by road to Senapati to hold consultative meeting with the Naga tribal leaders from the four districts by inviting them to Senapati today.
Around 100 people belonging to various Naga communities from different parts of Manipur including politicians- MLAs K Raina (independent), Dr. Kashim Ruivah, former MLAs, Gangumei Kamei, Dr. Horam, PS Henry Paotei and former MP from Manipur, BD Behring attended the meeting.
