Patil to arrive on Mar 9

): President Prathiba Devisingh Patil’s proposed two-day visit to Nagaland on March 9 has been confirmed, president’s secretariat Tuesday said.
According to president’s secretariat, Patil will arrive Nagaland on March 9 via Bagdogra in a special aircraft with other officials. She will halt in Raj Bhavan, Kohima till March 11 and will depart for Imphal from Dimapur on March 11, 9am.
Meanwhile, on her two day visit to Manipur on March 11 and 12, Patil is likely to address the Manipur Assembly.According to sources, Patil will head directly to Imphal Raj Bhavan where she is scheduled to hold a series of meetings. She will also hold separate meetings with chief minister and ministers of SPF government at Raj Bhavan followed by an interaction programme with teachers and students of various schools, the source disclosed.
During the meeting with the chief minister and his cabinet, sources said that Patil would inquire about the issues taken up by them pertaining various memorandums and complaints received by her office. Patil will depart Imphal on March12, 10am, sources added.
Earlier, while addressing the joint session of the Parliament in New Delhi on Monday, Patil lauded the initiatives to resolve the problem of insurgency in the north-east. She said intensive engagement with various insurgent groups in the North-east has largely reduced violence in those states.
