DBC spiritual food: Discipleship Bible College (DBC) family conducted a spiritual retreat programme from February 18 to 20 with Chujang Aier, general secretary of International Evangelistic Fellowship, Mokokchung as speaker. Aier emphasized on the practical Christian living in a broken world. He encouraged the DBC community to be the torch bearers to brighten the dark corner. He also challenged the students to discover their God given talent to serve the world for the extension of God’s kingdom. Along with the speaker, there were four counselors who met all the students personally.
ANFSA PHED new team: All Nagaland Field Staff Association (ANFSA), PHED in a meeting on February 23 elected new office bearers for 5 years tenure headed N. Zhekugha Assumi as president, P. Moa Chang, vice president and Tsholo Ritse, general secretary. Meanwhile, the association also informed all unit district presidents and general secretaries to attend the emergency meeting on March 10. The association further requested its members with 25 years length of service and above to submit photo copy of appointment order along with identity card to the president or general secretary before March 10.
SCWB new team: Sepfüzou Colony Welfare Board (SCWB) has elected new office bearers for the tenure of 2011-2013 with Keviletso Sechü as chairman, Vikho Domeh-vice chairman, Dzieseneizo Sekhose-general secretary, Vilalie Sogotsu-joint secretary, Neimhalie Theünuo-treasurer, and Kevireilie Mepfhüo, GB and Nitovi Swu as area representatives to High School Panchayat.
NPF 35 A/C Zunheboto welcomes: 35 A/C NPF Zunheboto welcomed the decision of information secretary 35 ACC of Baimho village Hotoshe for resigning from the Congress party and joining the NPF fold.
31 A/C NPF clarifies: General secretary, 31 A/C NPF Kakiye Chishi clarified that Holuvi’s name was not even enrolled in the electoral list under the constituency and that he is a resident of Dimapur. The party while condemning the press statement issued by Holuvi stated he was not even a member of the party and that Zhukheto Kiho was elected as the youth wing president during the general meeting held on July 29, 2010 at V K Town.
Tuensang unit NPA inform members: The Tuensang unit of Nagaland Pensioners Association (NPA) has informed all its members to renew their identity cards latest by March 31 and submission of district wise card-D renewal by April 2011 at NAP quarter office Kohima.
Training conducted for agri & allied sectors: One day training on agri and allied sector for farmers was conducted at Bhandari by ATMA Bhandari block with Dr. Moa and Megokhono as resource persons. During the training, resource persons enlightened the farmers on management of piggery, poultry and cultivation practices of ginger and pineapple. Later after the programme, vitamins and mineral supplements were distributed free of cost to the farmers.
NCRC Sumi women leaders fasting and prayer: The three-day fasting and prayer programe for NCRC Sumi women leaders, office bearers and executive members would be held from April 8 to 10 at Pughoboto prayer centre. All members have been requested to reach the venue by April 7.
Congress workers join NPF: A total of six Congress members joined the NPF Kiphire division headed by advisor 59 A/C Congress Vitokhu, head GBs Aseba of Yingphir village and Kaito of Lukhami village, GBs Shiromong of Sanphur village and Tsasemong of Thangthur village and executive member ACCC Throngsekyu.
AR donates library to GHHSS Sechu Zubza: The 20 Assam Rifles (AR) under HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles of IGAR (North) established a library comprising carefully selected reference books on February 24 at the Government Higher Secondary School, Sechu Village, Zubza. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Kapani, senior advisor, NSF. Addressing the gathering, officer representative from 20 Assam Rifles emphasized on promoting all round development of youth.
AR gift computers to Union Christian School, Pfutsero: The 13 Assam Rifles under Hq 5 Sector Assam Rifles of IGAR (North) presented computer sets with accessories to Union Christian School, Pfutsero town under Phek district on February 24 as part of DGAR Civic Action Project. During the inauguration programme, Commandant 13 Assam Rifles emphasized on importance of computer literacy in the current context.
AR inaugurates water storage tank at Pfutsero: The 13 Assam Rifles under Hq 5 Sector of IGAR (North) handed over a water storage tank to Pfutsero Town Council under DGAR Civic Action Project on February 24. The water tank was inaugurated by Commandant, 13 AR and attended by various officials of civil administration including Dingulo Khutsoh, Chairman of Town Council.
Inauguration Sintex tanks at Thokchur village: Two Sintex tanks of 5000 ltr capacity each at Thokchur village, Tuensang district was inaugurated on February 17 by 1 Assam as part of DGAR Civic Action Proj under the aegis of Headquarter 7 Sector Assam Rifles. The people of Thokchur Village expressed gratitude to 1 Assam Rifles for doing a magnificent job and completing the project in the shortest time.
‘India on Wheels’ meet: A meeting of India on wheels has been convened on February 28, 11:30am at T.U Building Meeting Hall opposite New N.S.T. complex. Non-achievers from Kohima have been requested to attend the meeting.
UCPC new team: The election of Upper Chandmari Panchayat Council (UCPC) was held on February 26 at Government High School Chandmari. The election was conducted by Election Committee along with G. B’s of Upper Chandmari and elected Mhalavolie Peinyu as chairman and Niren Thapa as general secretary.

Seminar on RTE in Longleng: Seminar on Right to Education (RTE) under SCERT would organized by deputy inspector of schools, Longleng March 4, 10am at Longleng. All head master private and government schools, teacher in-charge, TEC/VEC chairman and secretary under Longleng district have been requested to attend the seminar.
Lukhuyimi council hall inaugurated: BDO, Tokiye block, Hozehto Yepthomi, inaugurated the new Lukhuyimi village council hall under Aghunato sub-division on January 18. It may be mentioned that Lukhuyimi village council hall was constructed with special funds allocated by Tokheho Yepthomi, MLA and leader of opposition under the supervision of Hukavi T Yepthomi. The function was attended by villagers and public leaders from neighboring villages. Further, village council, GBs and public has extended gratitude to MLA and CPL leader Tokheho Yepthomi for allocating the fund, Hozheto Yepthomi, BDO and Hukavi T Yepthomi for supervising the construction of the village council hall.
Seminar on RTE: An seminar on Right to Education (RTE) was held on February 18 at Peren town hall. Awalo and Moa from SCERT Kohima were the resource persons. Altogether 200 members from different villages, wards attended the seminar. The program was chaired by Senthang DEO Peren. The first session was taken by Awalo where he highlighted on the RTE Act and second session by Moa. After the session, the member participated in discussion.
