Agri technologies trg in Wka, Teichuma

Two days training on various agricultural technologies for farmers of Wokha district was held on February 23-24 at State Agricultural Research Station (SARS), Yisemyong Mokokchung. The training was organized by ATMA Wokha in collaboration with SARS Yisemyong with Kesonyu Yhome IAS, SDO (C) Mokokchung as the chief guest. N Takatoshi Ao, joint director SARS & Project Director ATMA, Mokokchung highlighted on various topics.
The resource persons for the technical sessions were Bendang T Jamir, Dy Director of Secriculture Mokokchung, Lima, Fishery Inspector, T Supongmar Lonchar, JPB SARS, Yisemyong, Samuel Sangtam, SMS KVK Yisemyong, Dr. Rongsen SMS (Vety) KVK Yisemyong, Dr. Chubala Bernard, AVS, Bendangjungla SMS, KVK Yisemyong and Renbomo Ngullie, SMS KVK Yisemyong.
The training programme was concluded with field visits to SARS and KVK farm followed by valedictory function. Altogether 22 farmers attended the training programme led by C Peter Yanthan, APPO and BTT convener, Wokha block ATMA.
Meanwhile, one day training programme on modern farm technologies was conducted on February 26 at the Community Hall, Teichuma village. The programme was organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendra Tesophenyu, Kohima district under the sponsorship of Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Kohima. The main objective of the training was to highlight the farmers about modern farming practices in agriculture and allied sectors. In the technical session, Imtisenla, subject matter specialist (agronomy) deliberated on the topic “Package of practices of oilseeds with special reference to Sesamum”. Meanwhile, the second resource person Dr. Temjennungsang, subject matter specialist (Vety & AH) dwelt on the topic “Scientific rearing of Pig”. Altogether 35 progressive farmers attended in the training programme.
