Nagaland has unique culture: Nikhil

Governor of Nagaland Nikhil Kumar on Saturday greeted all Angamis on the occasion of Sekrenyi on Saturday.
While addressing the gathering, the governor expressed optimism that the festival of purification would draw people closer towards God and that permanent peace would prevail in the land.
He was speaking at the Sekrenyi celebration of Tuophema Village. The governor called upon all to contribute in bringing stable peace in Nagaland so that development and peace progress can be taken up.
This progression, he said, would also contribute towards development of the country and globalization of civilization, economic condition and social wellbeing. He also complimented the chief minister for his contributions to the people and urged upon the people for their cooperation and support.
Speaking from his 16 months experience as the state governor, Nikhil Kumar said Nagaland has unique culture inhabited by different people but linked by a single thread of unity and homogeneity. He said that Saturday’s festivity where Rengma and Chakhesang tribes participated was a sign of oneness, and added “This is how it should be; Nagaland should be like this all over.”
Folk dances and songs were performed by Phusachodumi Cultural troupe, Kasha Group cultural troupe, Tuophema cultural troupe, Mezhülhoutuo Rio and party and BKK Tuophema Baptist Church. The programme was chaired by Phrenyümo Seyie, advisor, TVC.
The governor donated `5000 each to all the participating cultural troupes and the Village Council.
