The Senate of Serampore College (SSC), University meeting at Clark Theological College (CTC) entered the second day with devotion led by Dr. Akumla, dean of Practical Ministries, CTC. Speaker for the day was Rev. V. Baby Sigamony, Asst. Professor of OT at Allahabad Bible Seminary. Sigamony spoke on Sabbath, stating it meant both rest and work at the same time.
While encouraging the members to take rest, she also stressed they must unceasingly work for the victims of injustice, including nature, who also need rest from labor, exploitation, and bondage.
The devotion was followed by a series of book releases. The books released were Handbook on Theological Education in World Christianity, edited by Dietrich Werner et al, challenges and prospects of mission in emerging context edited by Koshy P. Varghese, annual magazine of Clark Theological College with the theme “Ministry of reconciliation”, Morung speaks, cultural values and elements for the enrichment of Naga Christian community by Mar Pongener and Clark journal of theology edited by Temjen Jamir.
The last two were respectively released by Rev. Dr. Wati Longchar, director of Senate Centre for Extens and Pastoral Theological Research (SCEPTRE) and Rt. Rev. Dr. John Sadananda, master of Serampore College (University).
