An education tour was organized by 41 Assam Rifles under HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles of IGAR (North) as part of civic action project for 20 rural women from various villages of Wokha district to New Delhi.
According to a defence release, the tour was flagged off on January 31 from Wokha by the Second in Command of 41 Assam Rifles.
The 12-day education tour to be culminated on February 11 was to give an exposure to the rural women of Wokha district.
The group would be visiting various places of tourist and historical interest in and around New Delhi like India Gate, Humayun’s tomb, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Lotus Bahai Temple and Zoological Garden.
The village elders have meanwhile expressed gratitude to the Assam Rifles for undertaking such initiative for uplift of the local population.
