NLA speaker to inaugurate GMS Mengujuma
DIMAPUR: The new building of Government Middle School(GMS), Mengujuma would be inaugurated by Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker, Kiyaneilie Peseyie on February 10, 11. DEO Kohima, Zaveyi Nyekha and Vitsalhou Kesiezie, chairman, Village Council Mengujuma would also exhort the gathering besides school report presentation by Vichiituo Mor, head teacher GMS.
NU declares B.Tech result
DIMAPUR: Nagaland University, Lumami has declared provisional results of Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) first, third, fifth, and seventh semester as well as first (repeaters), second (repeaters), third (repeaters), fourth (repeaters) and sixth (repeaters) examinations of Nagaland university held in December.
One join NPF party
DIMAPUR: Advisor Sitimi Unit Congress (I), Vitokhu has joined the NPF party to support sitting MLA and chairman NSMDC, C.Kipili Sangtam under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister and Dr. Shurhozelie, president NPF. This was stated in a relase issued by Tsathrise, working president, NPF 59 A/C, Kiphire.
Dr. V. Sekhose retires
KOHIMA: A farewell meeting for principal director for health and family welfare department Dr. V. Sekhose was held on January 31. Dr. Sekhose retired on superannuation from February 1. The programme was attended by minister for health and family welfare Kuzholuzo Neinu, commissioner and secretary Menukhol John and a host of officers of the directorate as well as district level department offices. Meanwhile, Dr. T. Lhouvi Nakhro has taken charge as new principal director for health and family welfare department with effect from February 1.
Vipassana meditation gypsy camp
DIMAPUR: Ten days Vipassana meditation gypsy camp was held from January 23 to February 3 at the society’s premises. The camp was held under the guidance of Ananta Jena, assistant teacher, nominated by Acharya S N Goenka, Vipassana research institute, Igatpuri (Maharashtra). Nineteen participants from north east region took part in the meditation course and benefited from the ancient technique of meditation. The course manager further expressed gratitude to all the Sevaks for their benevolent honorary services rendered during the ten days Vipassana meditation course.
Career guidance seminar
DIMAPUR: Njauna Students’ Union had organized a one day seminar on ‘career guidance’ on January 28 at town hall, Jalukie. Resource persons were assistant Prof. Ditalak (administrator SETAM NU Dimapur) who spoke on the topic ‘General scope’, Keyichetlube Pame (Inspector of taxes, Kohima) on ‘Civil services’, Suilu (veterinary, Dimapur) on ‘medical’ and exhortation by Deisam Pame (Nehemiah Evangelist). NSU expressed gratitude to all the resource persons and all the students who participated in the seminar.
BAPA crusade held
DIMAPUR: In view of its crusade held on January 29 and 30, the Border Area Pastoral Association (BAPA) has expressed gratitude to NPBCA ES Rev. Dr. N. Mong, AEF director Rev. Kaifa, BAPA president Rev. T. Mayang, Divine Prayer Centre Dimapur, Panbari Baptist Church and other Churches for their support and prayer. The speakers exhorted the crusade, which was attended by border area people from both Assam and Nagaland, for divine intervention that people could live together peacefully and have friendship through Jesus for peaceful coexistence.
AASU silver jubilee celebrated
DIMAPUR: Aboi Area Students’ Union (AASU) celebrated its 25th years silver jubilee on January 12-14 at Aboi town under the theme ‘Onward with past glory’. C M Chang, MLA Lok Sabha, IAS Rtd was the chief guest and Y Nyeiwang Konyak, minister, school education & SCERT was the chief host. The resource persons for the silver jubilee were, Er. C. Chinglang Konyak, SDO (PWD) R&B, Mon, Er Changkei Konyak, SP (NPTO) Kohima, W Lampha Konyak, district cultural officer, Phek and Y T Manlem Konyak, assistant director (DUDA) Kohima. Further, AASU has expressed gratitude to chief minister, Neiphiu Rio for contributing Rs.1 lakh (1,00000) towards the silver jubilee celebration.
MYO new office bearers
DIMAPUR: Meluri people through general consensus has unanimously elected Rholetho as VVC Meluri, Khuthosie, VCC secretary, Sietepa, VDB secretary and 16 other village council members. MYO expressed hope that the new team would carry-out the assigned responsibilities for the welfare of the village.
PGT candidates informed: Commissioner & Secretary to government of Nagaland, Imkonglemba, has informed candidates recommended by NPSC for the posts of Post Graduate Teachers to collect identity certificate, medical fitness certificate and antecedent certificate forms from directorate of school education, Kohima from February 4 onwards.
Tribute concert deferred: The tribute concert in honor of musicians of ‘Tomahawk’ and Suffering Soul’ organized by Fans of Tomahawk with the management by music channel of Dimapur has been postponed to March 4, 5pm at town hall, Dimapur.
TTSU 3rd general session: Toulazou Tenyimi Students’ Union (TTSU) would be holding its 3rd general session on February 5 under the theme ‘Nurturing greater vision’ with Norman Putsure (IAS), secretary urban development & team leader, Nagaland bamboo mission, Nagaland as the chief guest.

Tsiepama village council Dimapur informs: Tsiepama village council Dimapur has informed land at the boundary between Tsurii to Zarii (below and above National highway 31, valley view) should not be sold or mortgaged by any individual. Anybody dealing with the above stated land without the knowledge from the village council shall be doing at his/her own risk, added chairman.
CBCD church workers retreat: Chakhesang Baptist Church Dimapur (CBCD) would be observing Church workers retreat on February 5 at Siloni, picnic spot, Manja, Assam. All Church workers have been requested to reach the Church compound at 7am.
BKD annual session: Benreului Kangbau Dimapur (BKD) has convened its annual session on February 8, 9am at the residence of Paukwerang Reunim, over bridge colony, Burma camp, Dimapur. All Benreului members of Dimapur have been requested to attend the meeting.
KBBD prayer and fasting program: Konyak Baptist Bumeinok Dimapur (KBBD) would be organizing a prayer and fasting programme on February 5, 6am to 12 noon at Konyak Baptist Church for all Konyak youth and students’ preparing for their examination.
DEO Dimapur inform schools: District education officer (DEO), Asono Ndang has informed government high school and government higher secondary school, under Dimapur district to collect text book from (class V to VIII) from February 7 onwards from the office of DEO.
CSU presidential meeting: Chakhroma Students’ Union (CSU) has convened its first presidential meeting on February 11, 10am at CPO hall, Chumukedima. All unit presidents and general secretaries have been requested to attend the meeting.
Launching of ‘Folktales from northeast India’: Som Kamei, director NEZCC would be launching ‘Folktales from Northeast India’ on February 5, 2:30pm at NEZCC conference hall, Dimapur. The book edited by Hekali Zhimomi, IAS, Lanusangla Tzudir and Akanito Assumi has been published by Heritage publishing house, Dimapur.

PFFA 5th foundation day: The 5th foundation day of the Passion Fruit Farmers’ Association (PFFA) Mokokchung would be held on February 9 at Salangtem Community Hall, Mokokchung. DFO Mokokchung, T. Medical camp at Bhandari: The 41 Assam Rifles, Bhandari would be organizing a medical camp on February 5 from 9am to 5pm at local ground Bhandari town. Major Aditya Kumar has appealed the public of Bhandari and neighbouring villages to avail the free medical facilities.
PGST candidates 2010 informed: NPSC selected PGST candidates of 2010 have been informed to collect the antecedent and character certificate from the department of School Education, Civil Secretariat Nagaland on February 4 onwards and get the form duly filled from deputy Commissioner/S.P./Police Station of their respective districts and submit the same to the department within 10 days. SFCD meeting: Service Forum Chozuba Division (SFCD) will hold it general meeting-cum-annual picnic on February 8 at GMS Sekruzu town at 10am. All members have been requested to bring agendas if any for house approval. SFCD general secretary, Veshosa Keyho in a statement said that the nomination committee will introduce new office bearers for 2011-12. Meanwhile, the present SFCD team has extended gratitude to all its members for their unconditional support and co-operation.
Kohima GBs informed: GBs under Kohima sadar administration circle, KMC Area Kohima, Chedema, Chedema Model village have been informed to submit annual house tax for the year 2010-11 in the office of deputy commissioner, Kohima on or before the February 25.
Dmu GB union picnic: Dimapur GB Union picnic would be held on February 12. All members’ especially union executive members have been requested to attend the picnic. The union also informed parting members to submit Rs.50 on February 9 at its office.
ZNBA inauguration programme: The Zeme Baptist Union, Assam, Manipur & Nagaland is organizing Zeme Baptist Association inauguration programme from February 4-6 at Zeme Baptist Church, Jalukie town. The theme would be “Arise and build” where Rev. Dr. Phuveyi Dozo, founder president, MRC, Dimapur will the chief guest and Rev. Dr. Rabbi Pame, Rev. D. Heutui Zeme and Dr. Engam Pame as speakers during the programme.
PTMK meeting cum election: Poumai Tsiidoumai Me, Kohima will hold a general assembly cum election on February 6 at 12 noon at Poumai Baptist Church campus Midland Kohima. All members have been informed to attend the assembly.
DPDB Mon meeting deferred: DPDB Mon meeting convened on February 7 has been differed to February 15. The venue and time would remain the same. All members have been requested to take note of the change and attend the meeting.
Daklane panchayat Kohima meeting: Daklane Ward Panchayat has convened a general meeting on February 5 at 9 am at Daklane Panchayat. Responsible sectoral representatives, office bearers, GBs, house owners, senior citizens, women and youth office bearers and all ward members have been requested to attend the meeting. The meeting would deliberate on schemes like NDS, introduction of new panchayat members and to discuss the general welfare of the ward, house numbering and other agendas.
Health mela at Weziho
DIMAPUR: A health mela was conducted on January 26 and 27 at Primary Health Centre, Weziho.
The team of doctors was led by chief medical officer, Dr. S. Hangsing along with Dr. C.W. Tungoe, deputy CMO Phek, Dr. Neisakho DMO, Phek, Dr. Khriezotuo, DIO, Phek, Dr. Vetsolo-u MO, Phek, Dr. Mark MO, Phek, Dr. Khrieleno MO (Ayush) Phek, and Dr. Pewezo Khalo MO, PHC Weziho and other medical staff.
A large number of patients turned out from 21 villages of Weziho area for health check up.
Besides family planning-NSV, Cu-T insertion, and minor operations were done.
Medicines were distributed free of cost and the team of doctors also had a short interaction with the village leaders and elders for the betterment of the hospital.
Hospital Management Society (HMS), PHC Weziho has meanwhile expressed gratitude to the medical team for the service rendered to the people of the area.
Census training at Chiephobozou
DIMAPUR: A three-day training programme for enumerators and supervisors for the 2nd phase concluded on February 2 at Customary Court Hall, ADC Office, Chiephobozou.
In the training, ADC Chiephobozou, Martha R. Ritse thanked all enumerators and supervisors for attending the training. The training masters were Amenla Tonger, Ngullie including Nodal Officers K. Semy assistant director, Sentimeren GIS map investigator and M. Lotha, compiler.
NPF 46 A/C welcomes new members
DIMAPUR: The 46 assembly constituency NPF has welcomed new party workers from Congress from Chi village under 46A/C Mon town. The resigned members are K. Nanwang vice president VCC (I) and Photem Konyak treasurer VCC (I) along with 68 household
According to NPF 46 A/C president Y. Tingtong Konyak, the resigned members resolved to work for the NPF party under the leadership of state chief minister Neihphiu Rio and NPF president Dr. Shurhozelie. The new members also resolved to support N. Thongwang Konyak former NPF candidate in the next general 2013 under 46 A/C Mon town.
Village approach road, community hall inaugurated
DIMAPUR: VDB association RD Block Tseminyu has expressed gratitude to R Khing, parliamentary secretary, horticulture for inaugurating the village approach road and village community hall at Logwesunyu village.
The VDB association RD block Tseminyu, further expressed gratitude to VDB and village council Logwesunyu village for constructing the village approach road from NEC road to village, under MNREGA scheme and constructing of village community hall. Further, the VDB association appreciated Rosenle Kath, block development officer for her service in bringing about development at Tseminyu block.
