Training prog on RTE: One-day training programme under Kohima district on (RTE) Right to Education would be held on February 11, 10 am in the Institute of World Language (Old Kohima College building auditorium) Kohima. District education officer has informed all head teachers, teachers’ in-charge of Government Middle Schools, Government Primary Schools and all EBRCS personals to attend the training programme.
Press conference on census: A press conference by the director of census operation will be held on February 8 at 2:30pm at Heritage Old DC Bungalow Kohima. The press conference has been called with regard to Phase II of Census 2011. In this connection all media persons have been requested to attend the press conference.

One expelled from Dziilhami village: Dziilhami Welfare Union, Kohima (DWUK) in its meeting held on January 26, resolved to support the action of Kohima village authority in expelling Thiipukhriinyi Shijo and sons of Dziilhami village from Kohima village jurisdiction for theft and anti-social activities. Dziilhami Welfare Union, Kohima also suspended the membership of Thiipukhriinyi Shijo and sons with immediate effect.
Sumi Suttsu general meeting: Sumi Suttsu has convened a general meeting on February 15 at Sumi Suttsu village to discuss on the centennial jubilee celebration. All villagers have been requested to attend the meeting.

MCCD general meeting held: Medical Colony Council Dimapur (MCCD) held its general meeting on January 29 and elected new council members for the tenure 2011-2013. The new team would be led by Namhing Zeliang as chairman and Nondilo Magh as general secretary along with ten council members, three advisors, two information secretary, three finance committee and treasurer.
State BJP meet: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland state office bearers meeting has been convened on February 15, 10 am at the party head office Dimapur. All the state office bearers, parent bodies have been requested to attend the meeting.

Pranabananda College inform students: As per direction of Directorate of Higher Education, Kohima, Nagaland, Principal, Pranabananda Women’s College, Dimapur has directed all students applying for scholarship to submit their bank account number and address immediately to the office of the College on or before February 12.
KSU new team: As per the results of election conducted on February 4, the election commission of Kyong Students Union (KSU) has declared Subenthung Lotha as president, N Amos Humtsoe, vice president and Amos T Odyuo as general secretary along with other office bearers for the tenure 2011-13.
NSUM 9th triennial conference held: Nallong Students’ Union Manipur (NSUM) held its 9th triennial conference from January 17-19 at Nallong village.N K Tanlinbou, compounder civil hospital Peren was the chief guest, while S P Tagumbo, vice president Liangmai organization Peren and Joshua Pamai graced the fashion show cum talent display and valedictory function as the chief guest respectively. N.K Grace Zeliang, valley rose and Chunchamliu were adjudged as fashion queen,1st runners up and 2nd runners fashion queen competition. Further the NSU has expressed gratitude to all the donors for their contribution for the conference and all the people for their participation.
SUAT cautions erring govt staff: Students’ Union Akuluto Town (SUAT) has requested all HoDs and staff of government offices in Akuluto town to be regular and discharge their duties appropriately. SUAT stated that general public and students have been suffering untold hardship due to their prolonged absence. The union cautioned it would conduct checking and take action on anyone found absent from duty without valid reason.
AR presents LCD TV and Tata Sky: The 13 Assam Rifles under HQ 5 Sector Assam Rifles of IGAR (North) provided a colour LCD Television set and a Tata Sky DTH under DGAR civic action project to the people of Kami village under Phek district on February 1. The recreational facility was the first one to be provided to people of Kami. The chairman and head GB of the village expressed gratitude to the Assam Rifles for undertaking such initiative for the socio-economic growth and awareness of the villagers.
Firing practice in Wokha: The 41 Assam Rifles would be carrying out day/night firing practice from February 7 to 12 from 8am to 5pm and from 6pm to 2pm at Wokha. In this regard the public and residents in and around the firing range area have been requested to keep away to avoid loss or injury to human lives, livestock and materials.
YUD issues guidelines: Yimchungrii Union Dimapur (YUD) has informed public that any person male/female as domestic worker/helper, adoption, relatives, private drivers, residing with guardian other than the parent seeking education etc., belonging to Yimchunger community should contact the union office for registration. The guardian/foster parent of above mentioned have been requested to submit two copies of recent passport photos and proper corresponding address with their contact number. The information should be considered as prior importance for both the parties, stated YUD and cautioned those failing to abide by the guidelines with stern action. GPRN/NSCN recovers truck: The Crime Control Cell (CCC), GPRN/NSCN recovered a truck (Tata 1613.C) bearing engine No. 80K62713802 and chassis No. 288343KRZ132507. CCC secretary, Z. Lhokuto Chishi has informed the rightful owner to furnish relevant document and claim the recovered vehicle within 10 days or to contact at 9856132899 for any information.
Driver robbed at Marwaripati: A driver of a Tata mobile bearing registration number NL07 A 4040 was allegedly robbed at Marwaripati by some miscreants on January 28 evening. According to a press release issued by Dimapur District Pickup Van Owners and Driver Union, the miscreants tried to snatch the vehicle from the driver but managed only to rob some cash and driving license from his possession.
