Census mini marathon at Dmu

To create awareness on census, department of census along with Dimapur district administration organized a mini marathon on Saturday on the theme, “Run for the future”.
The rally was participated by government higher secondary school, Christian Higher Secondary School, State Hostel Dimapur and Dimapur Sepaktakraw Association. The marathon started from Walford junction and covered new flyover, deluxe point, plaza point, city tower and finally culminated at DDSC stadium. More than 800 participated in the rally.
Earlier, advisor cooperation and sericulture and MLA Azheto Zhimomi flagged off the rally. Distributing prizes to the winners, Azheto appealed to all citizens of the state and the people involved in carrying out the census to be sincere and honest for better planning of the state. Census director Hekali Zhimomi informed the second and final phase of census 2011 would begin from February 9 to 28.
The director said the department of census would be organizing community meeting in all the remaining districts in the state to create awareness on census including political parties, village representatives, GBs, Naga Hoho, Naga Mother’s Association, Naga Council and ENPO.
The community meeting would be supervised by community monitoring committee under census department.

Men’s category
First: Asekho Joseph
Second: Durjmets
Third: James
Women’s category
First: Ruth Lasuh
Second: Neibano
Third: Zhotolu
The winners in men and women were awarded a cash of `5000 for first position, followed by `3000 and 2000 to the second and third.
