Joint operation bust arms smuggling

In what could be a likely arms smuggling racket, a joint effort of the Army and Police personnel under Bokajan police station on February 4 apprehended two suspected NSCN cadres and one Nagaland Police personnel. According to a press note issued by Rajputana Rifles based here, the intelligence wing of the ‘MI Unit of Gajraj Corps’ on receiving specified information of a arms smuggling from Dimapur to Karbi Anglong, launched a joint operation (Army and Police) on NH-39 near Lahorijan and arrested two suspected NSCN cadres- Zhavito Yaputhomi, (29), Tokihe Sema (30) and constable G. Avishe Sema, (25), a Nagaland Police personnel posted in Dimapur. Security forces also recovered two 7.65mm USA made pistol, four 7.65mm USA made pistol magazine and Rs 51,027 from the apprehended personnel who were later handed over to Bokajan Police Station, the statement said.
