Green succession of Nagaland state (Green-SONS) has reacted to a news item on ‘A case of VIP’s palate and diminishing wildlife’ published in a local daily on February 7.
Green-SONS while reiterating to promote environmental awareness and ecological balance in the state urged high ranking government officials, legislators and prominent citizens of the state to refrain from encouraging village hunters from indiscriminate hunting of wildlife by supplying bullets.
Green-SONS also appealed the officials to stop the trend of accepting wildlife as gifts or offerings from individuals seeking favors from the VIPs.
Requesting every right thinking citizens of Nagaland to conserve and preserve the limited resources of the state, the organisation also appreciated chief wildlife warden K.S Sashidar for highlighting the issue and requested to do so to create more awareness in the society.
