Nagaland chief secretary Lalthara Monday tendered “public apology” if his “considered opinion” that Chakhesangs were no longer backward amongst the Naga tribes, had hurt the feelings of the CPO/CSU. In a statement, the chief secretary said the report which appeared in this daily January 28 last was not his written statements but a report based on his verbal response to a telephonic query made by the reporter, consequent upon NSF’s memorandum to government demanding early declaration of LDA exam results.
Earlier on February 2, the state government while rejecting the comment of one advocate that CPO’s litigation filed in High Court on job reservation quota was related to NPSC 2008 exam and not LDA exam results, clarified that CPO had filed a miscellaneous petition to their main PIL No.9/2010, wherein in para 13 they had specifically sought court’s intervention to suspend advertisements issued for filling up various vacancies for LDA as well as NPSC recruitments.
