DIMAPUR: The second phase of Census 2011began Wednesday with enumerators and supervisors all over the state visiting households. In all the districts, administrative officers including the DC, and ADCs actively participated at the day one of the Census operations. According to an official bulletin, altogether 4743 Census functionaries have been deployed in the field during Phase II of the Census operations. In addition to this manpower, nodal officers and community monitors are being stationed in each district to supervise, monitor and assist the operations. Altogether 177 Census charges including special charge and 4293 enumeration blocks have been spread across Nagaland.
In Dimapur, the phase II of Census 2011 kick started at the residence of DC, Dimapur Maongwati Aier in the presence of Nikhashe Sema, CEO DMC who is also the census charge officer and other officials of census in Dimapur. Nikhashe appealed to all GBs and chairmen of colonies and villages in Dimapur to assist the census supervisors and enumerators to record accurate and informative data from the public.
In Chumukedima circle, the enumeration started in the households of Rajya Sabha MP, H. Khekiho Zhimomi and MLA, K.L. Chishi.
MOKOKCHUNG: The second phase of Census begun in Mokokchung district with the rest of the country with DC Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi as the first person in the district to be enumerated by the enumerators in the presence of Census nodal officers, Vidya V.K and Manashi Hazarika at her official residence.
PHEK: Community monitoring for Census operation held a meeting with the village functionaries and NGOs of Phek district on Wednesday at district planning development board hall.
The meeting was chaired by DC Phek, Mikha Lomi. Naga Mother Association president Abei-u Mero; community monitoring member, Sapralu; Phek GB Union President, M. Rose and Nodel Officer, Noksang Imchen spoke on the occasion. Representatives from Chakhesang Public Organisation, Pochury Public Forum, Chakhesang students Union, VCCs members, VDB Secretaries and GBs of Phek district attended the meeting.
The enumerators enumerated the district VVIPs and the VIP and other personalities on the first day of the Census operation.
Enumeration work would be completed by February 28 and during this period all households would be visited by Census enumerators and every living person residing in these households would be enumerated. Thereafter in order to update the population with reference to the Census moment, a re-visit would be conducted from March 1 to 5, during which, period updating of births and deaths would be conducted. Births/deaths occurring during the second phase Census period after 00:00hours of March 1 would not be taken unto account.
MON: Second phase of Census enumeration in Mon started with first enumeration of the deputy commissioner, Mon Dinesh Kumar and his family in the presence of ADC and charge officer, Mon, other administrative officers, nodal officers, supervisor and enumerator at official resident of DC, Mon. ZUNHEBOTO: In Zunheboto, the second phase of Census operation was marked by mass awareness meeting in connection at Town Hall, Zunheboto on under the chairmanship of T. Yanpvuthung Kikon SDO (C) SADAR, Zunheboto. The speakers were T. Kiheto Sema deputy commissioner Zunheboto, Sara Nuh, vice president, NMA, community monitor, Zhenito Yepthomi, president NGBF community monitor and Imkong, nodal officer. The meeting was attended by representatives from every village under Zunheboto district, GB’s, DB’s and NGO’s from Zunheboto, district, except Pughoboto and Ghathashi.
PEREN: In Peren district, the second phase of Census was conducted by enumerating information of DC Peren Khrienuo C. Metha and at Jalukie town Bangdi Iheilung, ex-minister was the first person to be enumerated by Pinthum Enumerator, Jaminthung sub-divisional Census officer, Er. Namheu Khate Census charge officer Jalukie town.
TUENSANG: After successful completion of first phase of Census training in the district, state as well as in the country, the second phase of Census training on Wednesday started at the official residence of DC Tuensang. The DC sought co-operation from various quarters to assist Census officials during the course of operation in various parts of district in order to bring accurate and factual report of population in the district. Athise, Census nodal officer Tuensang, also appealed to enumerators, charge officers and supervisors for correct information on Census operation 2011. The second phase of Census 2011 in the district will also be monitored by executives of ENPO, ENSF as the community based monitor. (Correspondent)
KIPHIRE: Phase II Census operation 2011 commenced at Kiphire town with C.M. Tsanglao deputy commissioner Kiphire as his first person to enroll the name. Deputy commissioner also requested public of Kiphire district to be sincere while giving their Census to the enumerators as it comes once in 10 years and give importance on its. (Correspondent)
LONGLENG: Along with the rest of the country, Census phase II began in Longleng district with the enumeration of DC Longleng C.K.Nihekhu Sema Longleng at his official residence. Before the commencement of the enumeration, the DC encouraged the enumerators and other Census functionaries present, to discharge their respective assignments sincerely and with total dedication.
