Farmers’ club launched in Tuensang

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tuensang held a launching and base level orientation and training programme sponsored by NABARD, RO Dimapur, on March 4 at CKS conference hall. The guests at the launching programme of new farmers’ club was district agriculture officer, Tuensang and assistant branch manager, NSCB Ltd.
Assistant Branch manager in his address said development could be enhanced for farming community through credit, but provided their was sincerity and good farmers-bank relationship.
He also deliberated on roles and expectation of the banks in relation to farmers’ club. District agriculture officer said farmers’ club could serve as a platform in enhancing the stagnant agricultural production system in the district.
During the program, experience sharing and activities undertaken was also presented by existing two farmers’ club, Longra FC and Deitanga FC which are promoted by KVK, followed by launching declaration by the guests along with programme coordinator, Dr. Keviletsu Khate where four new farmers’ clubs-Ausi-Langkok FC, Kuku FC, Ava FC and Thanki FC) were launched.
Technical session on base level orientation and training programme was held with Tokiho Achumi, SMS (Agronomy) as resource person.
