Wokha DPDB meeting

The monthly Wokha district planning and development board (DPDB) meeting for the month of March was held on March 11 at deputy commissioner’s conference hall under the chairmanship of parliamentary secretary for prison and home guards fire and emergency services, Er. W. Kithan.
Deputy speaker NLA Ralanthung Anthony also attended the meeting.
The meeting began with the annual review of important discussion/resolution. The LLRSO Wokha informed the house that re-settlement operation was underway and until it was materialized final mapping, road map/report cannot be submitted.
With regard to improvement of power supply within Wokha town, E.E (Electrical) apprised the board that due to shortage of power supply, load restriction is being maintained very strictly, and also stated the 132 power substation at Niropen colony has only 5MVA, which requires up-gradation to at least 10 to 15 MVA for sufficient supply of power. He further informed that a proposal has already been submitted to the higher authority for up-gradation.
In connection to construction of helipad and land compensation for local football ground, SDO (C) Anthony Ngullie who is also the convener of Quality Control Board informed the board that necessary site location proposed for helipad and land compensation has been submitted and awaiting sanction.
He also appraised the house on the progress of various works undertaken under the district.
Change of nomenclature of Government Higher Secondary School was also deliberated by the board, where SDO (C) informed that necessary bio-data’s and details of Lt. Montamo Kithan has been collected and awaiting proposal to be submitted by the Kyong Hoho to the DPDB for approval.
Report on Tsumang Lake and conservation of Mt. Tiyi Reserve Forest has been deferred to the next meeting.
E.E PWD (R&B) gave a brief status report on Wokha –Bokajan road, where he stated the road covers 94.91km constructed in 1991 by BRO and handed over to state PWD department on January 24, 2006.
He also informed that, technicians, laborers and necessary machineries has already been deployed and stationed at the site for clearance and maintenance of road. AUDO Wokha gave a report on the activities of Urban Development. Kyong Student’s Union (KSU) with a view to enhance quality education, submitted a proposal for construction of library centre cum conference hall under NLCPR, where the board requested for submission of detail project report (DPR) at the earliest for approval.
The deputy commissioner informed all officials that meeting for district level on preparation of perspective plan on BRGF has been postponed.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the chairman.
