Health mela at Riphyim, adjoining villages

A one-day health mela was conducted on March 12 at Riphyim village and neighbouring villages.
The medical team was led by state chief medical officer Wokha, Dr. M.A Ezung along with nine other doctors, Dr. W.N Ezung, Dy. chief medical officer, Dr. Zuben Kikon DPO (NVBDCP) Dr. Enrithung eye specialist, Dr. Yanren Obs and Gynae, Dr. Thong Ortho, Dr. Theja ENT, Dr. Daisy Dental, Dr. William, Dr. Zupon, pharmacists, nurses, lab technicians, NRHM, IDSP and O.T staff of district hospital rendered their services.
Minor operations like dental extractions, eye corrections were carried out while ENT and Ortho cases and CU-T were done on11 patients.
According to deputy chief medical officer Dr. W.N Ezung, the IEC staff took the health camp as an opportunity and gave health talks on personal hygiene sanitation, mother and child health, malaria, immunization awareness on health hazards due to misuse of DDT powder.
Blood slide and rapid diagnostic test were also done.
Demonstration of DDT spray, indoor residual spray was carried out at the village, awareness on prevention and control of mosquito borne disease.
Besides free medicines, handouts, posters, pamphlets were also distributed to patients as well as the public.
Meanwhile, CMO and medical team have extended gratitude to village council chairman, members and villagers of Riphyim and neighbouring villages for their co-operation in availing the health services.
