Meeting with Luizinho Faleiro: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) general secretary (Admn), Medokul Sophie has informed that a meeting of PCC office bearers, PCC members, DCC presidents and frontal chiefs in with Luizinho Faleiro, member of CWC, AICC I/c Nagaland would be held on March 18 at 3pm at Congress Bhavan, Kohima.
CLP meeting: The meeting of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) has been convened on March 21, 2pm at the official residence of CLP leader and leader of opposition, Tokheho Yepthomi at Minister Hill, Kohima. All members have been requested to attend the meeting.

ACS&C to visit Longleng: Additional chief secretary and commissioner (ACS&C) would be visiting Sakshi EAC Hq. on March 18 as part of inspection tour to Longleng. In this connection, meeting of all heads of offices under Longleng district with special emphasis on national flagship programs would be convened. IGNOU induction meet: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) would be organizing an induction meet on March 19, 10:30am at Dimapur government college, Dimapur. All students enrolled at Dimapur study centre-2002 for the session January 2011 under postgraduate, undergraduate, Diploma and certificate courses have been requested to attend the meet. NUDA office bearer’s tenure extended: Naghutomi Union Dimapur Area (NUDA) has extended the tenure of incumbent office bearers till its silver jubilee celebration on 2013. The union also elected Er Akuto Wotsa of NST colony Dimapur as its banker. Further, all the newly elected office bearers have been informed to attend the meeting scheduled to be held on March 27 from 2pm at the residence of its banker.
SACLF Church workers seminar: Saptiqa Area Church Leaders Fellowship (SACLF) held its Church workers seminar on March 2-3 at Saptiqa town Zunheboto. Rev. Honito Pastor (SBCM) and Hokishe Yeptho, president, Sumi Hoho were the main speakers. STH annual session: Sumi Totimi Hoho(STH) will hold its annual session (Baghi Hoho) on April 15 at Pughoboto on the theme “Woman’s role in today’s world”. Azheto Zhimomi, MLA Advisor Sericulture & Co-operation would be the chief guest. Lovitoli H. Awomi, HoD education department, Mt. Olive College Kohima would be the guest of honour, while Khehoni Khulu Zhimomi, deputy director of school education Kohima would also speak at the meeting.

NECU submission of license: Nagaland Electrical Contractors’ Union (NECU) has informed all registered electrical contractors to submit their license to the union’s office, opposite power house Kohima before March 31 from 9am-1pm, with all necessary documents (undertaking from workman, supervisor etc) for onward submission to chief electrical inspector office for yearly renewal.
New/renewal of PFA license: Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur has informed all food manufacturing centers, food establishment unit, restaurant cum hotel, grocery shops (wholesaler and retailer) pan/ghumti, vegetables, fruits and hawkers etc., under the jurisdiction of Dimapur district to get new/renewal of PFA license along with prescribed license fees and medical fitness for the year 2011-13 from CMO office, Dimapur before March 31. Any food item dealers of Dimapur district failing to comply with the order would be liable to be penalized under the provision of Nagaland Prevention Food Adulteration Rule 1985, added CMO.
DCC Mon coordination meeting held: District Congress Committee (DCC) Mon held a coordination meeting on March 16 at District Congress Bhavan with district Mahila, ACCCs, DYC, AYC, Sevadal and all frontal organizations. During the meeting, DCC appreciated Sonia Gandhi for appointing Dr. S C Jamir, former governor of Goa and Maharastra and chief minister of Nagaland at CWC as permanent invitee. Further, DCC Mon also appreciated NPCC for appointing Yona Konyak as general secretary PCC.
DMC inform building owners/residents: Chief executive officer (CEO), Dimapur Municipal Committee (DMC) has directed owners and residents within DMC jurisdiction to stop connecting outlet pipe of their respective septic tank in the main drain immediately. Anyone found violating the order would be dealt with provision of law, added CEO.

UNC firm on Naga reconciliation
Dimapur: United Naga Council (UNC) Thursday said it was firm on its stand for Naga reconciliation that was being painstakingly initiated and patiently handled by Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR).
UNC publicity wing in a statement appreciated the positive attitude of all the political groups for reciprocating the peoples’ wish by forming a Joint Working Group (JWG) to carry out the process of conciliation on the basis of the historical and political rights of the Nagas.
UNC also extended gratitude to JWG for prioritizing the highest level talks of all the political leaders as pivotal towards the expected reconciliation.
UNC also appealed to all political leaders to rationally consider the highest summit at the earliest possible time to fulfill the wishes of the people.
NPF Aghunato responds to shifting of DIET centre
DIMAPUR:Responding to the press statement on shifting of DIET centre in lieu of new GHSS, issued by president of ACCC Aghunato in local dailies, the NPF 34 A/C Aghunato said there was no question of exchange or relation through any order or paper on shifting of DIET centre and up-gradation of GHSS Aghunato.
Terming the statement as “unscrupulous and un-called for”, NPF Aghunato president Hoito in a rejoinder asked ACCC president to produce relevant documents proving that up-gradation was done in lieu of the shifting of DIET centre Aghunato as claimed by him. Hoito also stated that issuing press statement without any supportive documents would not justify the matter.
ALPWDFWA plea to release pending salaries
DIMAPUR: All Nagaland PWD Field Workers Association (ALPWDFWA) has appealed the government to release the 7 months pending salaries of work charge employees of PWD (R&B) and 3 months pending salaries of work charge employees of PWD housing before the budget session.
Highlighting the grievances of the employees ALPWDFWA said their wards are on the verge of being terminated from their respective schools owing to non- clearance of admission fees. ALPWDFWA has therefore asked the government to release the pending salaries so as to enable its employees to clear their dues.
TTC advisor replies to PHED dept
DIMAPUR: Tuensang Town Council (TTC) advisor Imlongnukshi Chang responding to the rejoinder issued by executive engineer PHED Tuensang on March 16 said that the water supply problem at St. John sector ‘A’ and ‘B’ in Tuensang was raised for the benefit of the citizens and not to defame the PHED department. TTC advisor and in charge of St. John sector ‘A’ and ‘B’ suggested for an enquiry team to be set up by the department consisting of NGOs, public leaders and administrative officials to inquire the functioning of PHED.
As alleged by the executive engineer that no complaint on water supply problem was received by the office, TTC advisor reiterated that a written complaint was submitted on March 10 to the PHED office. TTC advisor has appealed the public to contact him regarding the ongoing water supply crisis at 9863829111 and 9436427000.
ATMA activities at Wozhuro block
DIMAPUR: Demonstration on use of bio fertilizers and millet cultivation was conducted at Shaki and Sankiton village on March 11. Resource persons Lireni Kikon, BTT convener, Chukidong block, ATMA Wokha demonstrated on seed treatment in both the villages. Mhonchumo Lotha, agriculture department shared on packages on millet cultivation and the importance of millet cultivation considering the climate change. Bio fertilizes and millet seeds were also distributed to 45 farmers who attended the training.
Meanwhile, field day on sugarcane at Phiro village was conducted by Zuthunglo Erui, BTT convener, Wozhuro, Ralan block, ATMA Wokha on March 12. Resource persons Mhalo Tungoe, SMS, KVK Wokha dwelt on concept of field day to the farmers. Altogether 46 sugarcane cultivators attended the programme. The demonstration programme was organised by Wozhuro, Ralan bock, ATMA Wokha.
Rotary adult literacy camp kicks off
DIMAPUR: Rotary Club of Dimapur (RCD) inaugurated a three month long adult literacy camp at Singrijan in association with Khopanala Keertan Mandali, Singrijan.
Altogether 9 Rotarians were present in the function along with a visiting Rotarian, Rtn. Mohanakannan and his wife Anne Lalithakannan from Rotary Club of Chennai East RA Puram. The members of Rotary Club of Dimapur distributed slates, books, stationeries, and educational calendars.
RCD informed that the target age group for the literacy camp would be 25 to 60 years for both male and female. Altogether 40 persons would benefit from this camp and would focus on reading, writing and counting both in Hindi and English language. Two teachers have been deputed to take 2 hours class in the afternoon for 6 days a week.
The programme was attended by all beneficiaries including village council chairman and other members.
