Kohima district planning and development board meeting was held on March 15 at DC’s Conference hall, Kohima.
Advisor, IT & C, Vikho-o Yhoshu reviewed the last meeting minutes, which was held at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK).
The meeting deliberated on up-gradation of government high school Kigwema to higher secondary and also encroachment/damage on NH-29. Recognition of Asian Mission College was also discussed and a report was presented by special officer, Higher Education, Ahu Sakhrie.
President, Angami Public Organization gave a talk on traffic jam scenario in state capital and appraised the house on causes and problem of acute traffic congestion in Kohima and measures to ease traffic flow in Kohima.
President Rengma Hoho touched on the issue of inclusion of Rengma representative to KMC, proper distribution of power supply in the sub-division, need for construction of marketing shed in Tseminyu and appointments of district head of offices in Kohima district.
BDOs from Kohima, Jakhama, Chiephobozou and Tseminyu presented detailed reports on implementation of schemes through VDB like grant-in-aid, VDB welfare funds, ADDL grant-in-aid, matching cash grant (fixed deposit), Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana (SGSY), NREGS and Indira Awaz Yojana (IAY) in their respective blocks.
ADC planning, Ketoho Luho, while deliberating on DPDB action plan for 2011, said elocution competition would be conducted in April for students from the 16 high schools in the district.
Meanwhile, Kohima DPDB in its last month meeting at NHAK donated ten benches to the hospital for the convenience of the attendants and outdoor patients.
