Senior DAN minister and NPF president, Dr. Shurhozelie has finally broken his silence over the recent spurt of factional clashes between the two NSCNs in the state and expressed surprise as to why the leaders of the factions are not revering the voices of the Nagas.
According to NEPS, the minister on Friday questioned the logic behind such unwanted development at this moment, while everybody was trying to maintain peace and facilitate the ongoing peace process.
Dr. Shurhozelie asserted that the leaders of both factions were responsible for the current situation, adding their actions showed that they have no regard to the feeling of the common people.
Calling upon the top leaders of the Naga underground groups to know the minds of Naga people, Dr. Shurhozelie said “If they are leaders of the Naga people, they should respect the Naga voices.”
Stating that a “permanent peace” was Nagas’ desire and not the type of peace “we have now,” Dr. Shurhozelie insisted that in order to have a “permanent peace,” political solution should come at the earliest.
