Awareness camp on baseline survey at Khezhakeno

: Abebe Society (NGO) Mesulumi, Phek organized awareness camp on baseline survey and mobilization for formation of Self Help Groups at Khezhakeno village cluster under AHVY scheme on March 13. The camp was sponsored by the office of development commissioner (handicrafts) ministry of textiles government of India. Chief guest, Kh. Nipamacha Singh, LDC, (MSEC) Kohima Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicraft) Ministry of Textiles Government of India highlighted on the importance for formation of SHG. He said the formation of SHG could lead to self reliance because everything comes through SHG. Resource person, Welhi Wetsah, R.O. State Bank of India, Pfutsero branch highlighted on the importance of opening an account, adding it would open doors for artisans. He urged people to upgrade skills and avail opportunities by working hand in hand with DC handicrafts.
Delivering the welcome address, Lhiwetsolo, chairman Abebe society called for development and up-lift of handicrafts artisans cluster and urged the people of Kuzhabomi to preserve and promote handicrafts with the hope of making Kuzhabomi a New Jerusalem. The programme was attended by members of 15 Self Help Groups, various leaders of Mesulumi village, Kuzhabomi and Pfutseromi village. Kuzhabomi (Khezhakeno) village chairman, S. Solhou Ritse expressed happiness to assistant director (MSEC) Kohima and staff for conducting the programme and assured to co-operate with Marketing Service Extension Center Kohima O/o Development commissioner Handicrafts Ministry of Textiles Government of India. Abebe society also appreciated the office of Development Commissioner (H) and Ministry of Textiles, GOI supporting and sponsoring the society.
