Villagers asked to control jungle burning

Deputy Commissioner, Phek, Mikha Lomi along with head of offices conducted a meeting with Phek area village leaders like VCC’s, GB’s, VDB secretaries, women VDB secretaries, students union presidents and youth presidents at the bank of Tizu River in Hetika on March 17.
Deputy Commissioner in his speech asked village leaders to strictly control burning of jungles, adding the government would also give full effort in this venture.
He highlighted that responsibility of village leaders was to maintain right decision and to enforce justice and truthfulness for the betterment of the society/villages and called upon village leaders to work hard and to adhere to its decision so that progress and economic development would be achieved.
He also said that party-ism should not take place in the village functionaries, but upliftment of the villages and its people as the first priority.
He also called upon them to utilize fund judiciously while enjoying the privilege of leadership.
Superintendent of Police Phek, W. Krome and 5th NAP Commandant, Vechipa Vese also spoke at the meeting.
SDO Civil Phek, Razouvolie Dozo chaired the meeting which was attended by district officers including project director DRDA Nuposo Theluo, EAC Phek Vekho Chakhesang, DHO (Horti), DEO (Edu) and Industry Manager etc.
