GPRN/NSCN R-Day invitation
DIMAPUR: The organising committee for 31st Republic day, GPRN/NSCN has extended invitation to Naga civil societies, Naga frontal organisations, NGO’s, Church leaders, tribal hohos, village elders, student bodies, women organisations, various non-Naga communities, friends and well wishers of Naga political struggle, print and electronic media based in Nagaland and outside, to witness the celebration of 31st Naga Republic day at designated camp Khehoi on March 21,10am.
‘Summer Queen’
TUENSANG: The second season of ‘Summer Queen’ beauty contest would commence from April first week at Tuensang. Director Glam Hunt Organization (GHO) Alemla Chang informed that photo session for contestants would be held in the first week of April 2011. Interested contestants have been informed to collect the form from Farukh Khan (Aruk Yim) Jasmine shop, Sao Mai computer point and Popular bakery Tuensang.
VVC new team
DIMAPUR: Vidima village council (VVC) elected new team of office bearers at its general body meeting on March 17, at council hall. The new team would be headed by Rovi Nagi as chairman, Vitatso Vasa as secretary, Vikerütuo Sirie as VDB secretary and Kolie Medoze as VEC chairman respectively for the tenure of 2011-2016.
AR gifts computer
DIMAPUR: 16 Assam Rifles presented three computers sets with peripherals and projector to P. Khel and three computers with peripherals devices to Pfuchatsumia Student Union, Kohima. The Commandant 16 Assam Rifles in his speech emphasized on the need of computer literacy among youths and children. In a thanks giving note, president of P Khel village and Pfuchutsumia student union, Kohima, (Nagaland) thanked the Assam Rifles for their kind gesture
NRSA new team
DIMAPUR: Nyiro Range Sports Association (NRSA) had elected a new team of office bearers for the tenure 2011-2014 with L. Chonbenthung Ngullie as chairman, Aremo Ezung as general secretary, Khyojanthung Kikon as finance secretary.
NRSA executive council along with council union chairman, Nyiro range G.Bs union, G.Bs, V.D.B secretaries and Nyiro Range Students’ Union members held a meeting and discussed for forthcoming NRSA Golden Jubilee 2012 and set a planning committee headed by K. Myingthungo Kikon Convener, N. Motsuthung Yanthan Secretary, Timothy Yanthan, Yanbemo Ezung, C. Thungchio Ezung, Robin N. Kyong and Eyingo Murry as members respectively. Further, newly elected executive council expressed gratitude to village council chairman, VDB secretaries and well wishers for their support to the association financially and physically during Kyong soccer Championship organized by WDFA 2011.
AR Medical camp
DIMAPUR: The 1 Assam Rifles conducted free medical camp at Tobu Town on March 11 and 12 Mar under aegis of Headquarters 7 Sector Assam Rifles. A team comprising of two doctors and medical staff conducted the camp. Altogether, 237 patients including ladies and children received free medical treatment and free medicines. The villagers and civil administration acknowledged the noble gesture of the Assam Rifles in conducting the camp.
Meanwhile, the 1 Assam Rifles conducted free eye camp at Aboi town on March 13 and 14 under aegis of Headquarters 7 Sector AR. A team comprising of four doctors including two civil Doctors (Asst Comdt Golap Hussain, ARMO, 1 AR, Capt Preeth Pany T, RMO, 1 AR, Dr. MA Wati, MS Mon, Mon district hospital along with Dr. Moarenba, Ophth Assistant Aboi CHC) and AR medical staff conducted the camp.
A total of 159 patients including ladies and children received free eye treatment and free medicines. The patients were also provided with medicines and spectacles free of cost.
