Rotary sister club agreement

Rotary Club of Dimapur, RI District 3240 and Rotary Club of Chennai East RA Puram, RI District 3230, India entered into a sister club agreement on March 17 at Rotary Centre, Midland, Dimapur and voluntarily agreed to work together. The goal of the agreement was to meet the needs of people in both communities and to create international goodwill and understanding.
It is worth mentioning that such type of agreement was the first of its kind in the entire Rotary District 3240 which comprises of North Bengal, states of Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura.
The activities to be undertaken between these two clubs include exchange in Club bulletins, letters or e-mails, information on current projects undertaken, develop a youth exchange program and friendship exchange with 3-4 couples visiting the other Club’s town and district for the family exchange, visitor program, team program and uni-vocational exchange program, help develop the exchange of study/knowledge exchange teams from the two districts and extend possible co-operation in club projects and matching grants.
The sister club agreement was signed by Rtn. Sanjay Kumar Jain, president 2010-11, Rtn. Lucy Akokla, President Elect 2011-12 and Rtn. R. C. Gupta, president Nominee 2012-13 on behalf of Rotary Club of Dimapur jointly with Rtn. Mohanakannan Ponnuswamy, on behalf of Rotary Club of Chennai East RA Puram who is authorized by and is representing the Presidents of the year 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 of Rotary Club of Chennai East RA Puram. Rtn. Sanjay Kumar Jain and Rtn. Mohanakannan Ponnuswamy also exchanged the club flag.
