Food and civil supplies dept clarifies

Responding to the issue on ration cards under APL/BPL/AAY schemes by 16 ACCC Pfutsero, the food and civil supplies department has clarified that neither the government nor the department of food and civil supplies Dimapur have the authority to issue additional cards under APL/BPL/AAY schemes.
Additional director food and civil supplies T. Lanu Jamir in a press release stated that APL monthly allocation for the whole district had been allotted by the government, department on approval of the district administration and sub-allocation was made to the fair price shops for genuine ration card holders, those who have not covered by BPL and AAY schemes.
He also mentioned that as per the directive of government of India, 76500 number of beneficiaries under BPL have been verified with the joint involvement of district administration, departmental officials, town committee in the urban areas and village councils in rural areas and that deserving beneficiaries are drawing the entitlement from their fair price shops and village councils on monthly basis. With regard to AAY, the additional director further added that as per the government of India, 47500 number of deserving beneficiaries have been identified by the joint efforts and beneficiaries ate getting entitlement from respective fair price shops and village councils.
