Creating an identity for NCYM

A two-day leadership training programme was organized by Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM), at Holy Cross Parish Hall, on March 18 and 19 on the theme, ‘Transformed by faith- Transforming the world’. The program was animated for 61 Catholic youth of Holy Cross Parish, Dimapur with youth hailing from Dimapur town, Samaguri, Singrijan and Chekiye village. Teisove Gerard Meyase, President, Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM), spoke on importance of having an identity and stressed on the need to create an identity for NCYM unit in the parish. Rev. Fr. C. P. Anto, Director, (NCYM), in his message to the youth encouraged them to be model Christian leaders. He urged the youth to be firmly rooted in their faith, and transform the world. The focus group training and Jesus model of youth ministry was the centre theme of his talk. Robert Solo, former president, NCYM, shared his testimony with the youth, and urged them to take a stand for a better and transformed life. The topics in the sessions were leadership, qualities of a Catholic youth, changes and challenges of youth today, uniqueness of catholic belief and sacraments, Church history, identity of the Nagaland Catholic Youth movement, Eucharistic celebrations.
