Training on fish farming held

One day training on fish farming was conducted on March 11 at sub-divisional fishery office Kiphire. The training was organized by sub-divisional fishery office Kiphire and sponsored by Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Kiphire under the department of Agriculture with Tsayingkiu F.D and Thrilichum F.D as resource persons.
Altogether 30 fish farmers from 12 villages of Kiphire district attended the training programme. The main objective of the training was to impart importance of “Intensive Aquaculture” for high yield production.
In the technical session, topics such as paddy-cum-fish culture, composite fish culture and fish diseases were discussed, which was deliberated by resource persons Tsayingkiu F.D Shri. Thrilichum F.D.
Various queries were raised by the fish farmers with regard to topographical and climate adaptability suitability of fish species, fish cropping periods, breeding seasons size and water source for fishery ponds, fish growth rate, control of fish diseases as well as material and quality fish seeds from the department.
Earlier, the training began with an invocation prayer by Muthsazu Sangtam from trainers and welcome address by Shenromong F.D. The training ended with a vote of thanks by Peter Yekiumong F.D. (SDFO)Kiphire.
