Surprise checking in govt offices

Yimchungru Tribal Council (YTC) and Yimchungru Akheru Arih-ako (YAA) on Wednesday jointly conducted a surprise checking in all government offices at Shamator and found most of the government officers and employees absent from duty.
The teams visited offices and listed the errant employees who were posted at Shamator with their designation including, PWD (R&B) where the SDO, JEE, H.A, UDA were found absent.
The absentees in various departments include, JEE housing, DIS, SIS, UDA, LDA in DIS office, assistant headmaster in Government High School, SDO, AO Inspector, LDA, AFA in Agri department, IA in information office.
In the veterinary department, veterinary doctor SDVO was found to have been absent for a long period, besides SDO, LDA in soil department, UDA, Dhai in BDO office SDO and JEE in PHED. YTC and YAA stated that it was compelled to check, as most of the government employees were found to be neglecting their duties despite repeated appeal.
It was also reported that the Nagaland State Transport service has been non-functional with the office building standing alone, thus causing untold hardship to the public.
In this connection, the denizens of Shamator have urged the authorities to take appropriate measures against the NST department and to resume bus service between Tuensang to Shamator at the earliest.
Having completed the round, the joint inspection team expressed disappointed at the irresponsible attitude of the government employees and warned it would take stringent action if the errant employees were found to be neglecting their duties in future.
It also asked the government employees to keep their attachment documents in their respective offices so as to shed light on their genuine attachment in their next round of checking, adding it would impose “No work no pay” on the absentees.
