‘Users beneficiaries training’ on remote village electrification (RVE) was conducted at Khelma village under Peren district on March 10.
The meeting was presided over by Robert. H. Singson, secretary, ad-hoc town council, Athibung.
Resource person, Er. Inaho P. Awomi, project officer, in-charge of RVE, directorate of new and renewable energy Kohima briefed on the role of village energy management board (VEMB). He trained VEMB representatives, GB’s, VDB’s and selected representatives from surrounding villages of Athibung circle about the maintenance of solar home lighting systems and solar street light and a unit of solar distillery that had been installed in their village.
While briefing about the newly created department “New & Renewable Energy (NRE)” government of Nagaland, the resource person extend gratitude to ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE) government of India for granting eight RVE projects under RVE programme 2010-11 and also sponsoring the training.
